Hello, Alyssa! I love your videos so much. It was ME; I had made the comment asking what you might be running from. " You have to find out what you're running from and then you can heal." It was a pleasant surprise to see the title of your video today. Thank you for taking time to invest in my comment! What I meant when I said, "You have to figure out what you're running from" was not suggesting that something is causing you to cower away and literally RUN from finding a solution. (And that's what it could sound like I was suggesting by my question, I realize that now. I apologize.) I meant it as trying to figure out WHAT things in life affect you to the degree that you feel unlike your natural, healthy self. Causing you to want to "run" away from the feeling of being misplaced. I'd like to share a story with you. I would have a deep, heavy, almost raw and nauseous feeling every Sunday night before going to work on a Monday. No matter WHAT job I was doing, no matter HOW long I hadbeen doing it. It was pure dread. I would often CRY myself to sleep from this "feeling". I couldn't explain it to anyone. I didn't even know where it came from. I liked my coworkers; had great work ethics at each job. Kept them each for at least 10 years. Yet I felt sick and pukey every Sunday night like clockwork. And like a ball of hot fire was inside my chest. For years and years and years this went on. (I am a 46 year old female). And I realized that I always had a job dealing directly with people. Surgical Tech, Physical Therapy Tech and how a Massage Therapist. But I loved the medical field! I aced every class and passed ed very board of nursing exam to become certified or licensed. Or at least I THOUGHT I loved the medical field. On a whim of interest, I recently got a part-time job at a state park in Housekeeping and you know what? I have not had the first sick feeling since. Not one single upset stomach. I don't feel queasy, I don't have hot fire burning in my chest. And I am actually so excited to go to the park I can hardly fall asleep. I encourage you to seek more of what gives you peace; like you have been doing. The gardening, camping, family investment. Because to be honest, you remind me of how I felt when I was scrubbing in the O.R. Completely miserable. Out of place. Like a piece that didn't "fit" the puzzle. Completely drained, sad and HEAVY. So sometimes what we THINK we enjoy, what we THINK we want to do is NOT right after all. And it totally caught me off guard. It shocked me that I so enjoy cleaning cabins for $13 an hour so much more than being in a hospital setting or being in charge of another person's complete health. The loss of connectedness could be a symptom of misplacement of your energy. I am honored that you really took the time to answer my comment! Thank you; sending good mental health and positive steps forward to you. 💕

I completely agree about the constant connection and over stimulation. It can be overwhelming at times. I love your videos and seeing how your homestead is growing. I got such a kick out of the chicken bath 😂 I am sharing that idea with our neighbors who are new to caring for chickens as they have one with a foot issue too. Enjoy the fall! It’s my favorite time of year in Wisconsin.

We are in 1,079 sq foot house- itty bitty with 5 people, we homeschool have animals- so I relate to the clutter. It seemed easier when my kids were younger! Love your house, it's vibe and the reality you bring. Thanks! PS You and your husband are adorable! Happy Anniversary!

I think it's great that you've been able to work part-time and be at home more often. It's a sacrifice, money-wise, but time flies and kids grow up so quickly. You can't get those years back. My son and DIL are going through this now that they are parents, trying to balance home and work. It's a struggle!

LOVE this! I withdrew from my selective admissions program because I went from being a SAHM to classes, clinic, and non-stop studying. It took a toll on my oldest, my husband, and me. So, we decided to have more kids and homeschool instead and now I spent all day with my kids in a pretty small house, but I wouldn't want any other life <3

I only just found your channel but we must be soul sisters. While I am not a nurse and could never be (squeamish) but the way you look at life we are twinsies. I agree being in nature with those you love does matter. We are on 1 income by choice and I am home with my kids, but it is not easy. When you talk realistically about your budget I was brought to tears bc girl that is me every time! We are bobbing our heads above water and trying to do all the things.
