The review of the roles of the cases is really helpful, another one about case markers, like what do we need to add to the word to put it in a specific case, would be great 🙏

mâine is inherited from Latin māne. Compare Italian domani, Spanish mañana, Portuguese amanhã, and French demain.

I'm from Timisoara, but it's funny that I recognize all or most of these regionalisms and ways of speaking because my grandparents are from Moldova, and Muntenia/Oltenia. So I am very familiar with Banat Romanian as well as the others "dialects". I do believe that the Timisoara accent puts a lot more emphasis on vowel pronunciation than in Bucharest.

It's definitely a complex subject and I'm not sure what I expected from a 7 min video on the topic. In a way I get your point but the presentation itself is very underwhelming; the vid fails to deliver much or make strong points for/against the usage of the "t word", wrongly compares it to the "n word" (we have more suitable words that could justify such a comparison in our language) and seems to be yet another attempt at "educating people" while removing parts of their freedom. Not worth the watch, barely worth the thought. For an ACTUAL better understanding of the situation, I strongly suggest sitting down with multiple rroma people/tigani and actually getting their point of view, talk about their culture and feelings on the matter. While we can examine history, wikipedia articles, dictionary and whatever other written material about them in our attempt to "inform ourself", we often forget that these are real people living in the real world, with their own culture, values and wishes in terms of what they want to be called. Strongly hope the new wave of being "politically correct" won't wash away even more cultures.

Thanks for your message. I would like to know if you are rroma yourself? I am asking just because you seem to assume a lot and be talking for them. If not, my bad. About sitting down with them, read and listen to the resources I provided. I did sit with them. Otherwise I wouldn't have made this material. Also, assuming you called this video 'politically correct' (correct me if I'm wrong), how exactly does this or any other similar material 'wash away a culture'?

OH, when you said more controversial topics you weren't playing around, lol. This is excellent, this topic should really be covered by everyone teaching Romanian to foreigners. That podcast sounds really cool, I'm saving that in my pile of history things I'm dying to be proficient enough to listen to.

@@TheRomanianAcademy Absolutely! I was a subscriber to Romania-Insider for a few years, up until last year. I don't recall having read this particular article before today, but I was curious and searched to see the others you've written for them and I actually do remember reading the one you wrote about Romanians in the UK in 2021. Thought that was a bit interesting, that I apparently crossed internet paths with you even before meeting you here. A little "small world" moment of sorts.

Very interesting! Maybe a funny thing: the queen of NL that reigned till 1980 abolished the title 'your highness' but her daughter reinstalled it and till today (her son is now king) we say: your royal highness. When the king visits a city, school, company, etc they are instructed by the king's office to use those titles when adressing the king :) Maybe his daughter (now 18 years old) will abolish it again but till today, this title is used :) Tks for this video!
