Is duolingo worth it? I’m 48 hours in and I’m noticing that the AI recordings on there don’t quite give me the way to pronounce it in speech

Hello! Feel free to join Discord and ask the question there. I personally don't know much about advanced levels of Duolingo. Can't say I love the app. Its main benefit is vocabulary. Regardless, I am sure there are Romanian learners that are able to help on the Romanian Academy server.

Agreed. Many people prefer to add an imaginary 'i' in front of it but not everyone and every situation sees 'este' pronounced 'ieste'. Este, el, ea, ei, ele are a few examples where people prefer to add the 'i' to make it easier to be pronounced. However, all words starting with E have the option to start with the sharp E. And you hear it more often than not with 'este' and less with the short ones like 'el', 'ea', 'ei' and 'ele'.
