When are u going to review Longlegs Sam? Gotta think with your ❤ of horror this would be right up your alley. Also, check out Oddity. Nice little UK horror gem imo.

@@garyny4073 mid level at best. because it was a M. Night film I was I was expecting a big twist at the end. I thought the wife would be the actual Butcher or maybe it was a family affair. the only thing holding it together was Hartnett who I hope gets some bigger roles. he sorta stepped away from Hollywood for a while and I hope he's back for good. he turned down the role of Superman for Singer's version and he probably would have been pretty good in the role. the standout horror film for me this year is Longlegs. love that creepy damn movie.

sorry about that. I just woke up from a nap and am checking my e-mails so I'm literally responding still half awake. I'm 58 so I remember the satanic panic of the 70's and 80's and this felt like from that era. The setting of the early 90's was spot on as well. It really had that Silence of The Lambs vibe to me. Cage was gonna be batshit Cage and Maika Monroe was solid but the 2 roles which were excellent imo were Blair Underwood and Alicia Witt. Both changed their voices and to great effect. Alicia Witt was the MVP for me. Her character was so odd and u could empathize with her position up to a point. I've seen it 3 times and get more and more out of the flick. I created a KZbin playlist with theories and breakdowns but I haven't even watched one yet. Kinda like being a little in the dark and not really understanding everything. I do agree with some of the criticism that Perkins showing the eyes glowing on the dolls is a little too much but I still enjoyed it. There is a direct callback to his 1st film The Blackcoat's Daughter which connects both. I don't know if I'm wanting that or it was intended. All in all a good creepy film that knew what to do. Another Neon film Cuckoo was interesting but kinda threw everything against the wall hoping for something to stick. It was worth seeing once. For me Longlegs is very rewatchable and will be a perfect Halloween movie to watch over the years. It's been a good year for horror and can't wait for Terrifier 3 Nosferatu at Christmas.
