As for the separate speaker outputs being independent, I am sure a 3.5mm 'y' cable would take care of having 1 external speaker.

Does anyone have any tips on cloning two radios (3.5mm trs /trs)? I followed instructions in the manual and nothing doing.

Thank you for this series. HCO is really great and a lot of it is self explanatory, however these video's have helped with some of the more difficult sections. I have shared this with the president of a couple local clubs who are just starting to use HCO same as us. Thanks again.

Thanks for taking the time to put this together even though you don't own the radio. Amateur radio is not an inexpensive hobby. I just placed an order for this radio and it was due in part to your review. Biggest selling point for me was the large detachable screen and full duplex. Thanks again!

I have this plus the twin G29 (33cm/1.25m) version with the exact same form factor. Gets you 5 bands between the two and I really like these radios.

Does this radio cover GMRS 462.000 to 467.000?
@bwillan2 ай бұрын
The stock radio will receive signals in that range. If you wish to transmit, you have to do the MARS mod. That is documented well and can be found via google search.

Considering an excellent condition used Ft-2 now costs 200-250 used, I would say it is one of the best values out there, especially considering the feature set and that you can use it as a PDN as well.

I have several of these, and yes, AWESMOME radios! Question: The "older" TM-281a's (2020-2022) were EASY to "unlock," to be able to transmit above 144mhz. Was a SIMPLE matter to "lift the lid," remove one of the surface mount resistors, and close it back up again. Being a truck driver, I need access to the LADD channels, all of them above 144mhz I recently purchased 2 new radios and, lo and behold, a CHANGE UP to the main/motherboard! Interestingly, they are also now advertised as 136-174mhz - but in RECEIVE only. Any idea(s) on HOW to unlock those upper frequencies to be able to transmit? NO, not a licensed ham op, YES, our company IS licensed/registered and have our own dedicated frequency. THANKS for any help you may be able to provide!

I am running the stock mic on mine and consistently get good audio reports on this radio with just stock mic, high power and a Comet GP-9 dual band at about 30 ft. The radio is a little qruirky. Sometimes the main will shift sides, the scanning is slow compared to a Yaesu or Icom radio. However, I really like the color display and you can set up each side individually. You can be across the room and when it receives a signal and changes colors you will see it even if you don't hear it. You do have to keep the manual handy if not using it frequently because some of the functions are not intuitive like an Icom. But, I love the dual receive and it also has crossband repeat so I will take my handheld into the garage and still catch the nets while working out there. And it is built like a tank. And the colors are very vivid. Pics don't do it justice. I definitely would buy this radio again.

I don't bother with my local club anymore! Too many egos and petty political nonsense. Just not worth my time. A group of mostly older folks that like to talk, but not fallow through. I was very active at one time. But not now! I ran the newsletter for 5 years too!

Great audio, several power settings and extremely durable. Another great radio from Icom. I love their handhelds. I have an older Icom 32 AT that I bought 32 years ago. Still works great even after the radio and myself crashed into river rocks during a fishing trip years ago. Icom knows how to make durable radio's and does so. Nice review !!!!!!! Well done!!!!!!
