The Tomica Murdoch is part of the Alpha System. It has a chip in it that can be recognized by a talking playset. When they brought back Tomica Thomas in 2012, they gave the engines couplings so they can connect to rolling stock as well as each other.

You’re still missing the plarail, but the only difference between it and the trackmaster is it also has a troublesome truck so I’d say you have it complete. I can’t tell what that diesel is though, there’s two versions of the Tomica model but it doesn’t look like either of them.

Fun fact The different paint liverys come from different years whenever it was in service Red livery: 1864 - 1899 (revisited in 2015 then it was out of service in 2018 then painted blue in 2024) green livery: 1955 - 2007 and the black livery: 2007 - 2015

The Maerklin Thomas items were made via a colab with Hornby for the tooling (same as Maerklin's Hogwarts Express from that same era). You can fix the couplers by replacing them with spares - they are designed to come off so you can install other NEM coupler types.

You can easily get replacement NEM couplings online. There are British style tension locks, American Kadees and the European type Marklin uses. Fun fact: The Bachmann Toad has NEM pockets too.

I'm pretty sure the couplers on the Marklin models are NEM, which are designed to be easily interchangeable. My guess is that the coupler drawbars have worn together so the hold isn't as strong as it once was. I also think the chassis of the brick steam locomotive looks similar to Duck's. Maybe you should try building Duck on that chassis

The troublesome trucks . I have a percy already and a tomix Thomas . I feel these two are the next step … as I do have them in HO scale already . So it wouldn’t be the worst thing to have next along with a James perhaps . I mean a James and troublesome trucks are in my mind for purchasing . I mean we need some red coaches for James soon . Maybe re use the wheelbase for the Annie and clarabel perhaps . It could work . I mean it would give everyone rollingstock to pull Thomas with his coaches Gordon and his coaches Emily and her coaches Percy and his trucks Toby & Henrietta But James … has no red coaches to pull . It makes no sence … Oh well . We have trucks in the video ! And there good enough
