I personally love these rings and don’t think they’re that difficult to install. I use them on all my Tikka rifles because the direct to receiver option is way sturdier than having to use ring bases.

1. What is the source of smoke around the bolt shroud? Did the primer pierce? 2. This is exactly why you wear safety glasses when shooting. This close call is a gift but it is sad to see you didn't learn your lesson. 3. It is very disappointing to see the shroud made of a crummy casting with poorly formed threads. The replacement looks much nicer.

How do you change spring - I see it has a retained screw but these firing pins don't fit a standard rem700 disassembly tool.

Only took you 30min? Bloody took me an hour, and only did I realise that I'd mounted my scope 90 degrees the wrong way. Mine are QD highs, and to be fair, at least they hold a good zero taking the scope on and off. But i'll never buy another set of these!

If I buy the rear stock and an enclosed fore end would it be a complete chassis, I’ve been looking into the bravo and I can’t tell if this would be a complete chassis or if I would have to be buying more parts?
@CarbonPrecisionLLC

It wouldn’t include the center aluminum chassis. You could wait for their black Friday deal and pick up things pretty cheap.

in agreement as they are not the greatest to play with and on my brno with a recoil notch that lines up with the lug on the ring is not ideal , but i will say they are solid once you get past the aggravation

i think the best thing about these actions are the bolt design. you can run a long action in magnum caliber say 300win mag ,prc . then also run any 308 based cartridge. very detailed review , thanks , im sold.

Just happened last Saturday on my BMP last Saturday and my rear cover looked just like yours with the flat spots on the sides of the threads. I already had the replacement part on hand because of other people having issues with it.

Have them on several rifles, both the permanent and the quick detachable models and though they are different in design than most and installation requires a different technique they are tough and reliable and because of its vertically split rings, Lapping is not required as most.

I’ve never used these until recently. I was in a hurry and grabbed them. And I’m glad I did!!! He was talking about taking a long time to install? Didn’t take me long at all and I didn’t even have a gun vise! I mounted my scope in my lap lol. Love these rings and will be buying more.

This is pretty interesting. I have B-14 HMR in 308 that won't shoot worth a damn and it recently started blowing primers. I took my firing pin out and there are flat spots on the bolt shroud threads at the 9 and 3 o'clock positions. I wonder if this problem could have been causing my accuracy problems too.
