Experimenting with this now. Everything was pretty close, except when I added the stretchRand and the VEX restlength in constraint properties, now it's super deformed.

I managed to figure it out. But I can't bring the remesh target size down. It crashes houdini, trying to get the folds and "tightness" of the creases etc. I'm running a 4090 card and the remesh looks the same size as yours in the geo. idk

@@rendercrap i have same problem, tell me if Im right, there is a problem with scale? becouse when I scale up my piece of cloth then it seems to looking better

I'll have to go back and check this file. SideFX has a history of changing how constraints work, particularly the math/strength/etc., between versions. If it's messing up for me too I'll update the tutorial.

The best tutorials are always the ones who ACTUALLY show the render before the rest of the video. SO many just dive right in and we don't even know if it's what we're looking for. This is great. Appreciate it.

Very cool! THX! I'm thinking about how to make VDB explosion's smoke + fire into one mesh (in each frame) and add vertex color for that (merged/boolean) mesh - driven by smoke and flame "colors" from VDB info. I'm not a big expert with Houdini (working with EmberGen and mostly other 3D software and game engines).

When I plug the image into the height field (20:57 in your video) nothing happens. Even when I move around on y axis like you did.

That is some very valuable information right herr thank you! But it is hard to concentrate on what you show because youre not consistent explaining you have a very inconvenient way of explaining and this makes it very hard to watch 😅 but anyway thanks again for this!

Possible to do this without vellum drape? Honestly not a fan of the lack of control with this. But im still new, and cannot get the setup to work using Vellum Weld/stitch constraints
@ProfessionallyIncorrect6 ай бұрын
The vellum drape is a simplified vellum solver. You would swap it for a regular one. But if you can't get the welds to work with the drape, you'll likely have the same issues with the regular vellum solver.

@@ProfessionallyIncorrect Wow thanks for fast reply on slightly older video.. was not expecting that quickness lol but thank you! i went through some more complex constraint tutorials and got it to work with Weld constraints.. if anyone sees this and is having issues make sure your weld points are touching, was my big issue. thanks again for the reply

hi, how would I go about setting a color ramp on these circles with the Color node ? I tried "ramp from attribute" but I only had Position and Normal which didn't do much. Thanks!!

thank you so much for making this, been looking to find a way to do this in native c4d for a while with not much success. Doing it in redshift makes so much more sense. Have you had any other experimentation using tileable textures instead of the brick node?

Another way is Point Generate (set to number of circles you want), Enumerate, Attribute Adjust Float pscale (set to Remap Attribute), and then Copy to Points. This way is likely faster than the loop. You also get all the controls of the Attribute Adjust Float to tweak the distribution of the circles, which is nice. i.imgur.com/B69sfJU.png
