Hey. We are from St. Lucia. We give a pretty good explanation in another video called “Our PR Journey”.
@comeandplaywithus8076Күн бұрын
Great video. I feel that you could've got a townhouses which includes everything. It baffles me that you as a tenant still has to pay the utilities as oppose to the landlord paying for all that and you just pay all in one monthly payment. Some even gives internet as a welcome bonus. So strange to be honest.
@lynnellb9 сағат бұрын
It really comes to the same thing in my opinion. Either you pay less and pay utilities yourself or you pay more and get utilities paid for. It usually adds up to the same thing.

Such a pleasure Lynnell watching from Nigeria. Im a single mum to 4 with 2 undergraduates, I'm wondering what life in Canada will be like. I've done some research and Edmonton strikes me as 'the place'. I love your outlook on life, faith and family, you share very similar values as I do as well. Homeschooling sounds like fun, would really like to start my youngest, 8yrs and 13yrs before they get used to the system, although i dont know how that would pan out seeing im a single parent, and I've to work traditionally. Looking forward to more videos from you. Lots of love, Abiye

Winter can be such a mental challenge. I’ve lived in Alberta my whole life and also find it very long cause I love summer and warm weather so much. If it does get really cold in feb like a week of -30 which does sometimes happen. Going to the Muttart can be a nice break, there are lots of tropical plants and since you’re home schooling you can go at a time that’s less busy, take sketch pads for the kids to draw plants and you might get to sit in a moment of piece for a few minutes. Also going to a warm indoor pool is also nice on a cold day, but being pregnant can understand not wanting to buy a maternity bathing suit. I find going outside, getting fresh air and moving helps my mood a lot in winter. If you’re feeling cooped up, on nicer days I recommend doing a day trip to Elk Island National Park, Cooking lake recreational area or Chickakoo lake recreational area. All these places have trails for walking or cross country skiing and you can check trail conditions before you go. If it is deeper snow, bringing a sled to pull kids is helpful. If you don’t feel like driving out of the city I even find a walk on the trails in the river valley or Whitemud creek amongst the forest is nice to help with the cabin fever feeling.

Yes. It can be a mental challenge. And it’s so interesting because it’s a reflection of personalities and temperaments as well. Some people are less affected than others. We found that out during the last few years of quarantine lol. But absolutely agree, outside is nice and you have mentioned some great spots. Though I must admit Elk island and the the surroundings I was kinda leaving for summer.

You do get used to it. It’s almost like your body recalibrates. We know this when we step into a hot tub and it takes a lil while to get comfortable. There is Ofcourse a point where it’s just super duper cold. But by the time u experience below -20 with some windchill, when the temp rises again to -5 it legit feels “just chilly”

Oh...no I think a place like yours in Toronto be $2500 to 3000. Love your town house, and that is a very good price, but I think for 4 people utilities will be a little more especially in the winter. The issue with utilities here are the fees (administration fees, distbution fee, City of Edmonton fee, carbon tax fee... etc.)that is added to your utility bill. In fact these fees added up to be more that the gas and electricity usage for the month. At first you will alway be cold until your body acclimate to the cold. Ive learned if you invest in a warm coat with a hood, warm boots and make a point to dress warm, most of the time the weather in Alberta (these days) will be tolerable. Regardless..Welcome to Canada. This is best country in the world. We moved here from Toronto 1980 raised our kids here. Alberta was an excellent choice for us and hopefully for you and your family as well. Good bless to you and yours.

You guys are brave for heading out in the cold on new years! I am from Alberta but I was like no with the wind chill it was too cold this year for me to stand around at night time haha. Even though I’m from here my hands always get cold. I find mittens warmer cause your fingers will warm each other up. If you’re going to be outside for more than 5 mins, doing some kind of activity, and it’s colder than -10 I recommend getting big ski mittens from a place like sportchek or MEC or even Walmart. They can be expensive but worth the investment if you wear them every day for 4 months of the year, every year. For my kid I found a good pair of mittens from a ski brand at Once upon a child but they get picked over so you need to look there in the fall for best selection. I find mittens designed for skiing, the outer layer has better wind protection because they’re designed to be waterproof, compared to knit or woven mittens. Sometimes I even put a thin layer of fleece mittens inside the ski mittens if I’m going to be outside on a walk or activities like skating, cross country skiing etc. I imagine it takes a while to adapt to being outside in winter when you’re not used to it. You can also get temporary heat pads to put inside your boots or gloves for certain occasions. You may find the book “There’s no such thing as bad weather” interesting or inspiring to get out in winter, it’s written by a Scandinavian parent.
