If you love your iron 883, look into hammer performance. For a couple grand you can make your iron into a forever bike. I am infatuated with fat Bob also. I upgraded my suspension and went big bore and now i see no reason to upgrade. Great video!

Bad luck my friend. Live and learn. You WILL LEARN TO, 'read the road''. - Did you not see the 'DISCOLOURATION' on the road???? yes/no One only has a second or two to REACT. This comes by experience. All the VERY BEST to You. Regards. 'OZ'. (Australia)

Been subbed to Yammy noob pre Porsche days, he’s a good guy, but pretty sure he isn’t a genuine guy. He’s not someone I would trust or keep as a personal friend.

It happened to me on the freeway at night. At first I thought it was just the oil from cars on the road then came I started to ease off throttle and it helped out alot

I'm 61, have a 2011 Thruxton 900, which is excellent, but some of my pension will be getting one of these. I love the stripped down, no gimmicks basicness of it, plus love the sound with "short shors" Harley making a big mistake if they stop building them.

Glad you're ok. It's good to see some of the dealerships have employees that care. Every dealership is different. Some would have been worried about a lawsuit. The compassionate thing to do would to make sure you're ok.

Valid points, especially on the price. However, two years down the line, you can get a better deal on a Nightster if you find a dealer who is willing to deal. I just got a 2022 Nightster with just 610 miles on it and still a year left on warranty. It was listed for $11,999 USD. They brought it down to $7,999 USD and then gave me $2,200 for my Street 500, so I walked out with a pristine, like new NIghtster for $5,799 USD. Now that is a good price for a beginner HD! Great video!

This is an excellent review! I just bought a 2022 from my HD dealer with only 610 miles on it and totally pristine. It was marked down from $11,999 to $7,999 and then they took an additional $2200 off in trade for my old HD Street 500. I could not pass up that deal!

This was my first bike. I learned from classes for my license. I learned on a 750cc Harley bike. This is my everyday now and I man handle it. Once you learn on one which is this, it’s your bike! If I got on your weaker 883, I’d be disappointed. Of your willing, any one of them will be yours. Have fun and good luck

I wasvlooking at 883. 2016 with under 5000km at R100k. New out the box. Cant buy r3 or ninja 500 new. I am currently ridding vespa p150x. I use to mod those harleys. Biggest factoe was rust. I live durban. Salt bad here. Anything rust here.

I was looking in price range and harley just makes sense. Lots of negative factors bit you got nearly 900cc motorcycle. You can go on long rides. Where as other bikes just don't fill that gap. I ride 16hp vespa p150x. Harley will be like monster. 1200 has more power but more fuel as well. Tank is small. So is my vespa

Crashing sucks. Sorry that happened. I've been riding longer than you've been alive darlin" and have crashed several times on the street. Countless times on dirt bikes. You have obviously recovered thankfully. The best thing to do is get right back on the saddle. Most bikers are good people and know what it's like to lay down a ride.

Honda Hawk 400: without fairing, no problem; with fairing, wobbled badly at freeway speeds. Clearly not a speed difference problem. Thinking it's vortex-shedding: you get an oscillation as a vortex comes off one side, changing the balance of forces on either side of the handle bars (since fairing is attached to the front / forks end), then other side sheds and the imbalance reverses. FT500 also had a slight wobble. IIRC that was due to loose bolt on fork, allowing for slight misalignment of the two tubes in the fork. Easily fixed.

this might be an idea for other riders, at least it worked for me: I had V&H short shots on my 2013 Iron883. The stock baffle in there didn't even deserve the name. Piece of pipe with stamped holes in a helix like pattern. I then bought the QB. My first thought regarding the design: if someone at V&H had the idea to drill a hole in the black heatshield exactly above where the screw for securing the baffle is located... people won't have to fiddle around with the heat shield. But thats just me. When I put the QB in, I was kind of disappointed because they did not have the effect on the sound I was hoping for. Long story shot, what I did was (note that this is for the QB of the short shots, the twin slash ones do have other QB's!): When you look at the QB for the short shots, the part which goes all the way in...its a piece of pipe with a smaller diameter and it has holes in it. What I did was to cut some strips of sheet metal. I think 3 of them. These were measured to fit vertically around one row of holes on this piece I described. I've bent them slighty round to conform to the shape of this pipe section and welded it over one row of holes so that viewed vertically, one row of holes would then be sealed with a strip of sheet metal. The improvement regarding the loudness was definately there and above all it did improve the sound in a general way. I'm very sorry for my poor english and I did not want the be off topic since this is about the twin slash QB...but i plan to do the same since I changed to twin slash pipes, selling my short shots. The QB are different to the short shots in diameter but maybe are made in a similar manner so the same method i described would be possible?? Kind regards and thx for the cool video!

Haven’t heard anyone talk bad about it after ownership. I know this video is older and more people have gotten on the bike since. Was looking into another cruiser but this thing makes it hard, the price tag is a bit iffy though. Riding in Newfoundland I really thing the softail standard may be a better bike to buy especially if two up (off and on) is the goal. Torn is an understatement

I have an 06 883,last of the carburators, and I like carburators. I love how it looks and sounds, the evolution engine and belt drive. I am 5 foot 11 and really like how I sit down into the bike. It has a few modifications and it's just a cool bike. I also have a beautiful Italian bike, a 550 Moto Morni that I like a lot.

Got my speed wobble few days ago on Yamaha Tracer 2021. It was over 7k RPMs at top gear and straight smooth asphalt road. It started slightly to shake and I released throttle. At that point it went to tank slapping and I was expecting crash. I was lucky, just minor injuries, bike is quite smashed. I don’t understand what I did wrong. It was just a miracle and I was in God’s hands. 🙏

It’s like you’re in brain. I definitely went thru this list and my first bike was the Indian scout. 2nd place iron 1200 BUT the handle bar placement on the 883 was the sexiest

A tip from a near 30years Sporster rider, ditch the crash bar and put the straight basic higway pegs. It will still protect your bike, give you a really comfortable position while keeping the convenience of the mid controls, and you will learn fast how to shift and brake with your heels. Learn that a long time ago from another rider that used to travel a lot, and never enjoy more any other bike for that reason alone.

The forward coontrols and the STUPID fat front wheel are total deal killers! Also single rotor front brake? WTF? If I had to buy an an American bike the only one I would consider at ALL would be the Indian FTR 1200 which is 500% better bike .....still not up to mu standards but at least Indian is trying where Harley is just BLOWING it Seriously Harley could at least OFFER a version of this model correctly set up! That is with optimal sportbike sized wheels and tires, mid NOT FORWAR controls and dual rotor front brakes

Wow, I never would have guessed the softail standard was basically the same size as a Sportster. Hmmm. Making my choice more difficult. I'm looking for something to bop around on, very light passenger duty, and light infrequent touring, why not pick up a dead cheap used Sportster?

Don't bother with ad blockers. Just click the next button and then go back a page on your web browser. Easy as. They just want to track your every more. Don't play. Just click next. If they make it worse somehow then just say goodbye KZbin. Easy as. Next.

Looking at those bags I'd integrate a set of blinkers into the bags. Make the blinkers plug n play on the bike with the connector easily accessible. So when you put on the bags you can pull of the blinkers and connect the integrated blinkers in the bag.
