Hi. I'm your new subscriber here. I've always wanted to work outside my country since I was a kid. Currently, I'm working on becoming a cloud engineer. Do you think it's possible to get a tech job in Thailand? I don't have any previous work experiences. I need your opinion.

Nice apartment and good location, too! When I wroked in Honolulu, my apartment was across the street from a big grocery store, and walking distance to both Walmart and Ala Moana Shopping Center - very convenient. I rode my bicycle to work - which was a bit hazardous, due to traffic (not quite as bad as Bangkok, though). Your new office workplace reminds me of the offices & facilities for motion picture & television studio production in the Los Angeles area. Lots of perks for the employees & visitors, including free meals & snacks prepared by private chefs. Some pretty good parties, too. Ah, yes, my life as a software engineer was also so very hard... lol :) I hope that you enjoy both your new apartment & your new job! And, thanks yet again for sharing a peek into your life with us!

Ooh...that wipe board is awesome. Wish I had one when I was a programmer. Now they call them software engineers. Now my job is an applications analyst. Way more meetings and I don't need a wipe board anymore. 😭😭 I used to use mirrors in my house as a wipe board. Used to drive my family crazy. When the idea hits...you have to write it down. 🤣

@@Miguel_Watt Actually, I miss writing code. I do lots of meetings talking about how we should integrate applications into meaningful use in the company. I work for the research department of a medical company that owns many hospitals and clinics all up and down the west coast of US. We spend a lot of time meeting vendors and work on agendas for the company. I really miss coding. Give me a project...please. HA HA

tbh... Scrum ceremonies are useless. Specially dailies and retros. What a waste of time. Any moron can read a Jira board and know who is working with what. And retros... omg... No one remembers anything from the previous one and no action is ever taken really. W a s t e of precious time.

I hope you will enjoy your new job & new home! Good luck! Bangkok is a very large city. In your opinion, which suburbs or neighborhoods are best for a quiet, peaceful life?
@Miguel_Watt2 ай бұрын
Hmm this a bit tough question, I dont see bkk as a quite & peaceful area tbh 😅
@michaeltakayama84152 ай бұрын
lol... true enough. Mabye I should have asked for "slightly less noisy & marginally less chaotic"? 555 I know that it gets a bit better, as you move futher away from city center, without moving all the way to Isan. Are there any districts or subdistricts which you think are more attractive, but still within a reasonable distance to the BTS or MRT?
@Miguel_Watt2 ай бұрын
555? Wow u know how to laugh like thai ppl 😄 maybe try bts dark green line. It's less crowded than light green line also near by the river and close to many beautiful attractions.
@michaeltakayama84152 ай бұрын
Yes, I found out about 555 recently, while I was learning how to count numbers in Thai. Very funny! I am trying to learn some basic Thai, for my next visit to Bangkok, after I retire, in about 2-5 years. Learning a new language is also good for the brain, for older people like me. :) I will keep your suggestion in my future travel plan - thank you! I had planned to spend a couple of days riding around on the various BTS and MRT lines, as well as on the river buses, to find good neighborhoods, with convenient access to public transport. Note: No taxis or cars for me; I really, really did not like getting stuck in Bangkok street traffic! And, motorbikes are just too dangerous, imo.

Your house is very nice! I’ve never seen such a house before. Looks like a combination of a loft and a townhouse or a loft and a detached house. May I know what is the name of this type of house? Saw in another video that rent is $850/month. It is in USD, right? Could I know how large (floor size) the house is too? (I’m from Singapore where most stay in high-rise apartment buildings. Been to Thailand thrice and loved it. I’m exploring the option of working in Bangkok in the future.)

It’s pretty cool to see your lifestyle. I’m 21 years old and literally fell in love with Bangkok Thailand last month. I’m actually visiting in May which is crazy and I already know I’m gonna fall in love with the place, but my ticket out of the US is to go over there on a work visa, my steps on doing that is to graduate school first which I start this year ( major computer science )……. I know it’s going to be a grind but it’s definitely possible plus the company I work with is Amazon I literally went to resources and searched up Thailand, and there it was. not to sound weird, but when I saw your video, I saw myself in a couple short years because I know I can live there lol so I was wondering have you ever heard anything at all about Amazon and how it’s like or just news in general. 😂

First of all, thank you sm for watching and commenting. I'm glad that you like Bangkok. If you have time to explore thailand more, please try the country-side either the valley area or the beach area; I promise you will love it even more:). Oh, I just found out that Amazon also has an office base in Bangkok?
