Your videos are always helpful, and also always way above my abilities...I'm trying to find the most efficient way to do something really simple, which is have a write-on effect for my actual handwriting (from a Wacom tablet). I know I can use the write-on modifier for each stroke, but is there a better way to do this more automatically? I get that using the polyline mask for pre-written text works to reveal it, but I am actually writing the text in real time, and ideally I could just capture that, or have a quick way to replicate it. I have also simply used a screen record of another application and removed the background in Davinci, but I'm hoping there is a way to do something similar directly in Fusion. Thanks!

Hello, I am working on creating HDR videos. However, I am having trouble with the colors of source images appearing differently on my HDR monitor while working in the Fusion page within a project set to the Rec. 2100 HLG color space. Additionally, the source images I composited in Fusion are displayed with strange colors in the exported HDR video. Could you create a simple tutorial video to help solve this issue?
@squirekevКүн бұрын
Great walk-though. I really wish they would take the concept to the next step and allow for it to be a complete enclosed container for Dolby HDR work for analysis. Guess I can contain the container or something. heh. Hopefully, in Resolve 20, they finally integrate Fusion to recognize meta from Edit and translate it over (and vice versa): like Batch in Flame. I keep hoping they integrate the two at some point.

excellent tutorial, but how do you adjust the start and end points? At 1:16, you have all your nodes starting at 114 - I have this sort of thing and can't adjust the length of the nodes, even though the clip elongates.
@VFXstudy2 күн бұрын
Usually that adjusts automatically - there are some cases where it could go wrong. The nodes that actually have start and end frames have in and out points that can be set - typically for MediaIN and Loader nodes. Check in the Keyframe editor - it shows the duration of each node. You can also make changes in there or in the inspector.

Nice Tutorial. How to use fonts with alternate charactets (like with swashes) in davinci resolve/Fusion ?

Not sure I understand what you mean. Like create a new font? That you would need to do outside with different software and then load it to your OS fonts. Or maybe I misunderstand...

I have been interested in learning ways to edit smarter in Fusion and create cool VFX by thinking outside the box. And I learned so much from this video! Matte control. Soft glow settings. I rarely used those things. Modifying to Probe. I have never done that! Now I will! And I like the way you edit and explain things, simple but effective. Thank you very much for this video!

Hi, thanks for your videos. I didn't fully understand how the Uvmap node works, or rather I managed to make it work but only partially. For example, if I have to create a coin, can I take a cylinder and be able to map the textures of the upper, lower face and side? It's difficult for me. I solved the problem by making two planes with distinct faces and using the cylinder only for the side. But how does this Uvmap node work? Thanks if you can answer me, the documentation was not helpful to me.

hi! I've seen that you can duplicate and randomize same image or video, but how do you randomize a bunch of different images or do you have to manually put them in place?
@jonein7728 күн бұрын
The colour management is still as complicated as ever. In 19, I am still having the same issues still, and very frustrating working with brand specific hex codes. I'm in Davinci YRGB Colour Managed, with my processing mode set to SDR Rec.709, output colour space is Rec.709 Gamma 2.4. Switching to custom and putting this information in manually brought me much closer (and I thank you for that) but still seems to give me a colour mismatch. Would love to see a 2024 updated version of this, as it seems some of the options and layout of things found in this video are no longer current.

For some reason my images are infinite in length on my keyframe editor so I can't trim them. Is there a setting that I can change to fix that? I tried adjusting the global in and out and that didn't work either. If you know the problem that would be great.

Can I do this on a 3d image plane?
@VFXstudyАй бұрын
@SpartanJoe193 you can add materials to an image plain as well. But typically you use image planes to place 2d images in 3D so in most cases you just want the image to act as a diffuse texture - but you could change it.
