Thanks for the comparison, I'd say if you can afford it, then go for it. As far as I can remember, Fusion studio used to cost $4000 before BMD bought it with much fewer features and since then basically have been giving it away for free with the Resolve Studio license as I think you can get Fusion studio with the same key as the Resolve studio.

Yes correct. I'm running Resolve Studio with the dongle I got for Fusion 7 or 8. Also works the other way around. Regarding prices - yes a lot of VFX and Color grading software used to be high end specialized software often only developed/tested/sold with specific hardware to few customers. When BMD first offered Resolve, I think they put it at 995$ or so which was seen as a revolutionary price drop compared to the previous davinci hardware solutions....

I really hope you can do a tutorial of that shot @00:44 - 00:46 if that was done in DaVinci ,please....🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

The compositing was done in Resolve, but I created the scene in Blender.

Worth bearing in mind that a number of the features of Resolve are integrated from Nvidia SDKs. If you know a little python and really need something like their temporal noise reduction, you could run the code yourself. Similarly, there are state of the art open source ML projects that equal or surpass Studio exclusive features (e.g. Depth Anything for creating a depth map, Demucs for music separation).

Not sure if the BMD stuff is from the NVIDIA SDK, since Resolve is cross platform and works with different GPUs. But yes, for developers and technical artists with the right background you have more options if you have the time...

Blender tracking isn't so bad. It's much more of a manual workflow, which takes time - but does give a lot of control. I regularly get very low solve error ratings.

Depends on your definition of "Pro". If you are a full time matchmoving artist you probably use dedicated tools like 3D Equalizer, Syntheyes or a number of other dedicated products. If you do other stuff and occasionally need a quick solution for a not too hard problem, you might as well use what's in your software of choice as long as it get's the job done...

Hi, do you have any paid or free course for 19? On your website its updated till 17 version
@stephanenicault49397 ай бұрын
The good way for a beginner, if you can't buy Da Vinci Resolve Studio, save your money during some months or years, work with the free version and buy it when you have the total price. It's a better choice than buy an another software at less price as Vegas Pro Edit for exemple because it's a perpetual licence with all updates free.
@VFXstudy7 ай бұрын
Exactly. Yes the free version is likely better than one of those "simpler" video editing programs aimed at non-professional users.

I don't think the Resolve Studio/Fusion activations on the same machine count as two activations.
@VFXstudy7 ай бұрын
Really? I use the hardware dongle so I can't test. But anyone with the license key has tested and can confirm?

It's really worth if you have the budget, you own it rather than rent
@VFXstudy7 ай бұрын
Correct, so far Blackmagic Design has never charged for updates since they acquired the software. And even though they added paid cloud services now, those are optional and can be replaced by 3rd party services to some extend. So they are not aggressively forcing you into them.

I can't buy your courses as your website is not yet enabled to sell in India, I have dropped you an email, once you get time please look into it. I had faced a similar problem with another website for plugins but they could fixed promptly. I hope it works as soon as possible.

Thanks for letting me know. I know i have customers from India but it seems there is something about PayPal that is not accepting it. I reached out to support. Let's see if they can help me.

If you're making money with VFX work the comparable small fee for the studio license should be a no-brainer. If you can't afford that, you're doing something wrong.

Agreed. That's why I made this video specifically with students, educators, and hobbyists in mind. Agreed, if it's your job, then typically you don't need to think about it for long.
