I think the comparison with the flexibility is kind of not fair. Though the pro edge has the same 73 sound. It does have ADAT expand abilities to other device. Such as their Super 8 and OST 8. Now what I am interested in is a print of a mix bus back in to the preamps. Challenge accepted? 😅

Great video and so good to hear your different uses, including for guitar. Have you tried multitrack recording / layering with the new firmware update? Would love to hear your thoughts on that if so. Many thanks and can’t wait to watch more of your vids. Best wishes for 2025!

I do agree with you about preamps being an overrated investment. Great review. Thanks for taking the time.

Heritage Audio i73 VS. Neumann MT 48

I was watching a tutorial where the person (who shoots on a gh 5) was talking about how you need to have the grey card/ white card covering the entire frame. Is that the case with the sony a7siii? or does it only need to cover the box in the center of the frame?

that ssl sound sooooo good the converters sounds better than that piece of i73 junk no offence
@HarvVideoAudioStuff2 күн бұрын
It definitely won’t be the converters, poor converters are honestly a thing of yesteryear. Maybe it’s the preamp in the i73?

Had the NDH20s for a couple of years before the left yoke (the piece that passes the wires through to the earpiece) broke very unexpectedly. Neumann's customer service was fantastic, and offered to fix it free of charge. However, once I got passed over to the repair team (I'm in Canada, and it was Sennheiser) things went downhill. I was informed that the yoke is a very common repair, but my experience wasn't believable to the repair tech, and they took it upon themselves to try and charge me for the repair and shipping. After some back/forth they agreed to drop the fees. I got my headphones a couple of weeks later with a completely mismatched earpiece, about quarter inch thicker than the right, and the velour was really poorly fitted. One email to Neumann about this, and the lovely customer service agent decided to send me a pair of NDH30s and I'm thrilled. I was far from impressed with the customer experience with Sennheiser, but Neumann has been super helpful and quick to respond. I'm not sure if the yoke design was improved upon for the NDH30s, but on the 20s it is a very thin/delicate plastic piece, and if it fails it will have your earpiece dangling/un-useable. I'm hoping they've switched it out for an aluminum yoke on the newer NDH30s.

Hello, I have a question, please I have this lens, but I have trouble taking sharp pictures when I shoot in the vertical position, in the horizontal position I don't have any problem, the pictures come out sharp even with a shutter that is not very fast, but even with a very fast shutter and steady hand, they don't appear sharp in the vertical pictures, can you give us your impression about this? thank you

I am using the SSL12 now, as much as i think i would prefer the "on/off" button, i had never used it since i first hook up the interface. As the device is bus powered, it turns itself off as soon my mac is shut down. The only things i need to swtich off before the mac shuts off, are the monitors .

Just bought it and can’t wait. You nailed it on not caring, so many benders always complaining and not even recording. We don’t care about opinions, we care about sound! Acoustic sounds great man. Just great.

I've seriously been thinking about swapping my SSL 12 for the Edge but the price difference is far too big. If SSL could add some DSP or even a few VST slots to their interface it would be very comparable on spec, I think it's the one thing the SSL is missing. You have swayed me a little to stick with the SSL, and to be honest I've got quite attached to it. 😎

Interesting observation about the light transmission - I couldn't tell in the video for sure, is the transmission highest or lowest when focusing close? And does the transmission fall below a what you would see in a comparable 85mm F1.8 lens?

Enjoy guys :) NB - Pincushion distortion, not barrel. My reviews are always honest, whether I receive a product for free or not. If a comment unfairly questions this, I may remove it to keep the discussion positive. Repeat offenders could be hidden. Let’s keep things respectful-thank you!

There was a lot hype when the Sonarworks came out and I bought a copy and I was very dissapointed. I get much better mixes without it. So wondering if this is the same in the end. Just another company who wants to make money:-)

My SSL2+, with very "light" use, has NOT held up well. Channel 1 "line" button died, and now line 2 doesn't work, and I've only used it a handful of times.

Very enjoyable review. However, I don't think the Hollyland mics have 32 bit float. I love my wireless mics because they are so easy to use, but I'm thinking of getting a Tascam DR-10L Pro.

I sent mine back. Cheap crappy headphones. The software was a gimmick. I had a lot of users say how they through they were great but then I heard their mixes. Not a fan. Learn some decent headphone and stick with them. You'll get more out of the decent phones like Audeze. These are not it.

Does it accept timecode from other systems - I.e. can you jam sync it? Seems like a good value. Glad you mentioned Tentacle Sync Track E - that’s what I currently use and it’s excellent. They updated the firmware a few months ago and it can now output TC via the headphone jack which is great for devices that will accept it (FX30, GH7, Osmo Action 4/5, Pocket 3, etc).

Another thing to mention is it has the highest SPL level out of all of the mics you can literally be by a jet and won't distort it I think it goes over 130 which is crazy

What about battery life? I use DJI and wish their transmitters were slightly larger in order to reach a full shoot day (at least 10h, 12-14h if possible). If that's the case, I think it's much worth the extra size/weight. It's a very nice and interesting review but I find it funny how you mention the "brand bias" ... coz I heard you mention a series of Saramonic's features that you've "never seen before" which are included in the DJI mic like the auto pair, or auto record... Did you buy this with your own money? Still a very interesting product though... Still waiting for the DJI Mic v3 to compare.. Cheers! PS: I use the DJI mic on a wildlife TV show.. with very long shooting days (hence my interest in battery life).. thus, I love the waterproof feature of the Saramonic and also one feature you did not test, is the provided antenna that supposingly doubles the reach.. which again, for the type of work I do.. would be super useful for outdoor recoding (for those very wide shots with the host in the middle of a breathtaking landscape... )
@HarvVideoAudioStuff13 күн бұрын
I'd say the specified 6 hours per charge and 24 total with the battery case is accurate. I was transparent about Saramonic sending it to me at 0:59 and bear in mind I'm giving it away (I don't make these videos to make money, I have a totally separate full time job)! I also didn't realise the Mic2 had those features as I've not owned it myself.
