Raleigh is my wife's hometown. Love that city. I just got my Yashica, and I'm waiting for my first roll of black and white to be developed...2 weeks to process! I'm trying to get the hang of the whole metering thing.

i find that people often confuse sharpness with focus,., and a hypersharp picture tend to look synthetic and fake,, most of the time oversharp images feel dead no matter its subject..

👍 Yes. Agree. Well put. I think there is a similarity between this and the reason that some people (myself included) still appreciate vinyl records. There is a lot more to enjoying an album than simply the lack of background "noise" and some of the "imperfections" can give character and don't detract from an appreciation of the composition. (Most important of all of course are the large record sleeves filled with glorious album art! 🤣)

nice images Erik, I shot my first roll of Kodak Gold 200 with Pentax 645N and I can see this is going to be really fun to use!

I just found out about your video because I just acquired both cameras recently and enjoy seeing what photographers can do with these amazing cameras. It seemed like the 645 was sharper with hair details in first comparison but, it was very close. It would be fun to see comparison of CineStill 800T. Thanks for doing this video!

6 years later, you haven't published any videos for 2 years, your last snapshot on IG was 6 months ago, and your website is gone. A shame, your photo essay was pretty engaging. Anyway, I'll see what else you have to say.

These were a lot of fun to shoot until Kodak raised the price of Kodak Portra 400 on 120 to over $1/click. It's like shooting Instax prints directly =(

Actually I have one of these cameras. Love it!... I agree with you, taking photos with RB67 takes time, patience and respect for the camera, and use tripod!. Mirror vibrations, but you can lock-up the mirror. Great videos, great photos.

I absolutely love my Pentax 645 I have two of them with two zoom lenses 80-160 f4.5 and 45-85 f4.5 very heavy lenses though. one of the cameras is loaded with color film the other with black and white but can only pack one at a time they're pretty heavy around the neck LOL but I'm always close by the other camera in most cases

In my opinion, Ektar 100 performs also well in darkroom. It is not good for digital scanning only. It does need different settings of color filtration when compared to other Kodak films, but this is not actually a problem.

I would like to see the difference between Kodak Ektar 100 and Kodak Gold 200...just to see the difference between the two. I have a Pentax 6x7 with a 75mm 4.5 and a 200mm 4.0 and totally LOVE the camera! Nice video by the way...I will have to make a video next time I'm home in the Philippines and taking pictures with my niece.

One does not need a "pro camera" unless there is some feature one cannot live without. Otherwise, the results are the same with the same lenses.

So many people mention the tripod as an issue, but i found that a ball head, with that skinny 'neck' is pretty bad, as it allows the torque of the shutter mechanism to cause a resonant *rotational* vibration, so I went to the 'large ' manfrotto pan/tilt head, and, as well, i hated the tendency for the ball head to allow the camera to crash down if you has the camera tilted, and did not have enough friction on the head. Just my experience.

The advance lever only rotates one way, if it wound the film backwards, that would be your fault not the cameras, that being said, the kodar lens was hundreds of times better than the kodak lens, and it was a cheap camera for average people. My grandfather bought one new in 1954, As a retired Army Captain, it was the first camera he could afford. I still use it today, it still takes really good photographs.

I dont use modern equipment, my digital cameras is at least 10 years old, but I like to be able to choose so that the lenses dont set the limit but the cameras does that as I have the D700 and the D800E. I'm saving for a 2nd hand D850. I still have Mamiya 7iii, HB 503CW and Fuji GW690iii analouge equipment but sold of my 135 systems. I'm looking for a 2nd hand 65mmF4 lens and a 350mm to my HB.
