Kind of lost respect for you in this vid as you showing a complete lack of understanding of basics. Flipping and brrr 2 completely different strategies, and secondly you’re talking about it as if you’re getting all money out brrr on every deal, which as you know is not possible. If you’ve already got tons of cash, btls are great. If you need to build the cash pot, flips are the way to go

Hi Jack great content thanks, keep it coming. I hadn't considered how quitting my 9-5 would effect my chances of getting a BTL mortgage. I'm currently employed full time, work in construction and plan on doing my first BRR next year. I was going to dive in head first and quit my job but perhaps I should rethink! Do you think it would make any difference to lenders that I paid cash for the property and refurb or will they still be looking for that monthly income? I can see this being a difficult hurdle to overcome. Presumably you can only quit your job once you have enough rental properties under your belt and sufficient income from them to keep the bank happy?

Those costs are way off.. that house should’ve been bought for 100k, renovation 10-15k and resale 140k at most. I did a full renovation last year, new electrics, new plumbing/heating, plastered throughout, basically like a new build, and that sold for 180k.. someone isn’t paying 180 for a plastic cladding bathroom and half plastered..

Being honest I don't like all of these property guys who make videos saying things with great confidence and ego but very incorrect information, especially about tax! But he didn't say he was making £5m a year from BTL, he said most of it is from 'education', there are 45 people, he's probably not the only shareholder and it's all funded by other people, simple because he talks a good game and most people don't know better - and to be fair probably do ok because of luck, being small and things going unquestioned

Great videos Jack, Any suggestions to which direction to take. Currently living in our family home which we have extended massively since purchasing in 2016. Ideally needs another £20-30,000 put into it to achieve full show home finish. Value is £750,000. Remaining Mortgage is £250,000. Currently self employed as carpenter/multitrade. No owned funds available to finish this house right now. Options I see are, 1. Take out a bridging loan for say £50,000 to enable completion of our current home. Complete and sell ideally within 6 months. This will leave approx £450,000 after paying bridging loan and mortgage. Purchase a smaller property of around £300-350,000 for family home. Leaving approx. £100,000 to use alongside another bridging loan to purchase another property to flip. Option 2. Keep the house we are in and would like to ideally stay in. Take out a bridging loan against this house for as much as possible to purchase a property to flip. Flip a few then brrr mixed in.
@jackdavidsmith22 күн бұрын
It is hard to advise something like this because everyone's situation is different. Do you really love your current home? Would you actually be happy downsizing to a house half the value? If you are then you could sell and take the funds to invest. If you love the home you're in then you could just remortgage and take the funds and reinvest into investments.
@jasonwilliams707720 күн бұрын
@jackdavidsmith not sure remortgaging is an option as low proof of earnings last couple of yrs but ideally yes stay in current home if possible.

This is the worst government this country has seen in over 100 years. They are simply after taxing you to death and beyond. They don’t want people to be success, they want to make everyone poor, not better. Better hope labour can’t find a way to tax the oxygen in the air, or they will…!

The economy was doing well, and some people thought, "Let's vote Labour." Now I can't move home. Good luck to anyone trying to get onto the property ladder. If people living in cheap houses refuse to move, you are not getting on any property ladder anytime soon.

@@wintersun398 I recently helped a lady in her 20s buy a house with a mortgage. She's on minimum wage. She put in 9k of her own money and bought a really nice 2 bed house.
