Love Matthew Broderick (not as Tack, just as a performer), but if we're going by Tack's voice, Lively works far better. I personally prefer him mute with that deep "I love you" at the end, but this works very well for what it is.

I agree that Tack wasn’t meant to speak and all, him being mute gives him a charm that can’t be replicated with having a speaking role. However, this actor did a good job voicing him. Tack with this voice has its own charm. In the cut where Tack is voiced by Matthew Broderick, you can tell he clearly doesn’t want to be in the movie. In the cut with this actor voicing him, he actually is making an effort to do a voice that would fit Tack if he spoke.

As much as I love him mute, at the very least, his voice is soft. Quiet people I know have a similar trait. But one funny thing that made me laugh is the massive contrast to his voice in the last line compared to the Richard Williams version.

Although I favor the recobbled cut, I think that this voice for him is much more fitting than the original deep one they gave him for the ending. I know they kinda had to add speaking roles for him to make the movie make sense since they were working with only the pieces of a full movie. Like making up for the missing pieces. Sorta? I'm in agreement with the general consensus of the comments. Tack works beautifully as a character who is mute through most of the move. But if he absolutely has to talk though the whole movie, the Aussie voice actor is a very good fit.
