I’ve always gone with if your draw length is correct, you shouldn’t experience any arm slap. If it’s too long, you will. I also used to wear an arm guard to take the slap there, but I was probably an inch long on draw length then. Haven’t experienced arm slap in years now with DL being correct.

Thanks Paige! I've been looking at a bunch of videos to figure out what i'm doing wrong with my shot, and you're the first one to talk about the stiffness of the wrist, and the dropping of the front shoulder. one shot after watching this, I put my arrows right on target instead of 4" left. Also realised my peep hole is too low. Thanks!

🤦 every time I watch one of your videos I find some new thing I’m didn’t account for. Just got new arrows and fletched them all up…based off previous helical test from a different arrow. Scared to even test the new ones 😂

If your slapping your wrist with the string your draw length is to long.
@Bob-ts2tu

i got pointed in the way of your vids because my serving and new string is wound anticlockwise, so common belief would have a bare shaft turning clockwise, but i tried 2 different spined arrows and found they both turned ACW, so it's my experience what you have found too, that serving direction, while may be a common reason for clocking one way it isnt necessarily the definitave answer. I shoot recurve and aint no world beater, but it makes perfect sense to fletch with the spin, as it costs nothing. wether it make a difference to my points score is another thing, but at least i feel im doing things right & better, and that has to be worth something - cheers

The only thing I don't quite understand is the d-loop. In practice you connect the d-loop without making the nocking points yet to be able to move it up and down. But how exactly do you go about testing it? Do you mount the viewfinder to see where it goes or shoot without it? And how do you see where it goes if you mount the peep later? Sorry but this step is not clear to me. PS: when you talk about holding on more weight are you referring to the let-off? Do you recommend keeping a low let-off? Like 65%, compared to a high one? Thank you
@PaigePearceinsight
@PaigePearceinsight 10 күн бұрын
@@zeroclipstudiocom To answer the second question because that’s simple.. yes more holding weight means the same thing as less let off. I wouldn’t ever recommend a percentage. I would recommend whatever each Individual can handle well. I’m not telling people what’s best because I can’t. I’m telling them how to determine what’s best for them, and that’s key. And I have a video on the D loop thing on my Instagram and Facebook. You tie the d loop on with your bow fully set up. Don’t tie the center ties though, then aim and shoot the bow and then twist it to move it up the string, then do the same and aim and shoot it again. So you are just doing a guess and check to see at what d loop height your bow aims best. That’s one of the most simple steps in there. Once you find a place you like then tie in the center ties :)

Once you have moved bars etc. To make the aim good.. are u like relaxing your front hand to just allow the bow to sit how it wants to sit.. then adjust the bubble to match. I tryed this last night and felt off because I've never done it before. I normally have some byass in my bow. But then i wasn't sure how much i had into it because i was moving the bubble, etc.

I'm having an unusual issue and wondering if you could explain it. My sight level is perfect at 20 but the further I aim/shoot the more it bubbles left (left handed shooter) I can't explain why it happens. If I level 1st off at 50 yards I'm now bubbling right at 20. Seems like I'm losing my level at distance. I've tried everything. Please help! Thank you

How do you know which direction to move the rest? Any guides?
@PaigePearceinsight
@PaigePearceinsight 22 күн бұрын
@@alang269 you don’t! It’s just guess and check. The more you do it and learn your set up you’ll learn enough to have an idea but it’s still trial and error. I never run a high bareshaft though so that’s never something I’ll try. You don’t want a low tear. But if you have a wide left and tight group and you move it left and it gets worse, and more left and still bad, then go to the right. I have found that sometimes I’ll fight it with an arrow spine and I never get it really as good as I want, and then I switch spines and then it works like a dream. And both are good for my specs it’s just giving the bow what it wants and you never know unless you try. If you have questions go to my Instagram highlight reel called random tips and I have a bunch of group tuning stories on there that will help more!

Does this lead to accurate broadhead flight or is that something you tune for separately ?
@PaigePearceinsight
@PaigePearceinsight 23 күн бұрын
@@Pattyboybx No not at all. This would be a baddd way to tune broadheads. Broadheads you really do want great arrow flight. On a target set up it’s not important, but on a hunting set up I tune to have my Broadheads and field tips hit together at all distances, which means you have the best arrow flight possible :) So definitely don’t apply this to hunting, but it’s a great thing to try for target!

Paige, can you define first axis? I believe I follow everything you’re saying here, but what you’re calling 1st axis I’ve always understood to be 2nd axis.
@PaigePearceinsight
@PaigePearceinsight 27 күн бұрын
@@HuckFTW 2nd axis is labeled on my sight (I shoot an Axcel) and that is when you level the bubble in the scope to the vertical bar that the scope moves up and down on. First axis is the tilt of that vertical bar where it attaches to the bar that is on your bow. I have a whole video on here about how to level your sight that shows all of that and goes through each step. You should watch that just so it’s 100% clear! :)

That makes a LOT of sense. At long range I often find myself holding really well but my bubble is off, then when I try to force the bubble level it doesn't hold as well. Now that I have the new Boonie sight that has 1st axis adjustment I will give this a try. AFTER my elk hunt in Colorado next week since I'm all dialed in for that.

So what about 3rd axis?
@PaigePearceinsight
@PaigePearceinsight 27 күн бұрын
@@mikekage9895 3rd axis is important and should be level. I have a video on here called how to level your sight and if you need help leveling you should watch that. I do my 3rd axis always with a Hamskea at full draw so it takes my torque into consideration. If I leveled 3rd in a vice it wouldn’t be correct at all. But moving your third around won’t change how the bow aims or fighting the aim of your bow really. So that’s why it’s not mentioned in this video because that doesn’t have to do with the aiming part. But it is important and I cover it in the sight leveling video :)
