I liked Anatomy of a Fall, even though I did find spots to be slow. When I watched it, I was only hearing good reviews of the movie. I also liked Bohemian Rhapsody because even if it wasn't real, I was getting to listen to Queen and the music was great. I thought the acting was good in it, too. The movie I still dislike immensely is Triangle of Sadness. I agree with you, when you were amused by the characters in the first 2 acts. If it had ended there, I would have thought it was quirky but kind of a movie about nothing. I loved Seinfeld and it was a show about nothing. However, I hated the ending to this movie so much, that it ruined it.

Great video! I totally get the feeling of liking movies that others don’t. I personally enjoy the Venom movies, and I really liked The Last Voyage of the Demeter-I even preordered it from Shout Factory! The only downside was the CGI wasn't the best and could’ve been better. I have Antebellum in 4K UHD on my digital movie account but haven’t watched it yet. I own the 4K UHD disc of Hannibal though it’s been a while since I last saw it. I don’t remember it being that bad though. Also, I had a lot of fun with The Flash, mainly because of Michael Keaton’s return as Batman!

Maybe it's wishful thinking given Gen Z will inherit the Earth, but I want to believe that one day Joker: Folie a Deux will get a second look because it was much better than it's critics say IMO. Anatomy of a Fall, Hannibal, Bohemian Rhapsody were all excellent and I own but haven't seen Triangle of Sadness or Flash yet.

It’s wild how many times we like a film or don’t like a film and it makes people crazy haha. I didn’t hate The Voyage of the Demeter, I just left wanting more. I feel that’s why it was only a chapter in the book. It’s not bad though. I need Bohemian Rhapsody still never saw it. I was jaded by all the 90s tv biopics growing up never the full story.

I love the Venom movies 👍 I lover the last voyage of the Demeter. I like different takes on Dracula. Did you watch Blacula❓ I really liked both of them. I haven't seen Anatomy or Antebellum. Hannibal is cool but I haven't seen it in a long time. I need to also watch Collateral Beauty. Loved Bohemian Rhapsody. Great movie. Triangle of sadness is also a must watch. I am writing down the ones I haven't seen. 😁 I liked the new joker movie. I enjoyed the singing and I too like Lady Gaga. I still think her half time Superbowl performance is the best I have ever seen.👍 What ❓ I personally loved the Flash. I'm a fan what can I say. 👍 Hey I enjoyed your choices and have seen 50% of them and like them. We are alike. 👍

I like most of these including The Flash and Joker 2. The one Exception is Bohemian Rhapsody. The anachronistic moments took me out of the movie. To me performing Fat Bottom Girls on their first U.S. tour is more egregious than seeing a wristwatch on a Roman Centurion.

The Freddy Mercury film was so neutered because the band had a say in its creation. So, it is pretty sanitized, not to mention inaccurate at times.

Stephanie, I'm one more fan of Joker 2, so there are at least two of us!! I recently talked about it in a video. The first film was brilliant, although certainly a heavy, depressing watch. I wanted to see Part 2 because of Phoenix and Gaga, both of whom are phenomenal actors. I'm not a fan of Gaga's pop image, but she is a talented singer and musician, and I was really surprised at how good an actress she was in her first two films. Plus, I wanted to see what Phoenix would do with Arthur Fleck in this sequel. I was very impressed with the film and the two acting leads, and the supporting performances were great as well. Catherine Keener is always a welcome presence. The musical part was fine for me, and I think Phoenix's weird vocal delivery was perfect for the character. I will definitely watch this again when I'm in the mood to reenter that dark, depressing world. Both leads deserved Oscar nominations, IMHO.

A couple titles you mentioned are already in my library & a couple other titles sound interesting so I will look into them. I also am building a catalog of titles for my retirement years where I will start a podcast. It'll take a couple years because of what I'm planning. I will let you know when I'm up & running. My only problems with The Flash were that the guy playing the Flash reminds me of Jimmy Fallon, and I can't stand Jimmy Fallon, and the horrible cgi you noted. Otherwise I enjoyed it more than most DC movies. I haven't even seen anything else you mentioned, but I do own several of them. The fact that you enjoyed them may move them up in my ridiculously long and ever-growing watch list. I like Last Voyage Of The Demeter. The complain most people give is that there wasn't enough of Dracula and you can barely see him when he's on screen. Joker 2 if you cut out all the singing is a good movie. If they kept it as a character study like the first movie more people would have liked it. I'm not against musicals, but they just went overboard having it every 5 minutes. It should have just been limited to Arthur's fantasy world with 3-5 big meaningful sceens.

Hi Stephanie! I just watched this video, and hope to add some comments without breaking my cardinal rule, which is no politics and no religious discussions. I really enjoyed The Heretic, and as soon as I saw the trailer, I knew I wanted to see it. I have been into theological movies as of late. I watched The Conclave, and really enjoyed the behind the scenes of choosing the next Pope. The Heretic was interesting because Hugh Grant’s character, Mr. Read, really made the girls argue their stance on Mormonism. I thought both sides were very interesting, and instead of calling this a horror movie, I would have listed it as a thriller. Very Tarantino-ish with heavy conversation. I also just purchased The Apprentice and Where’s My Roy Cohen after your recommendation. I am currently reading Trump’s book, The Art of the Deal, and this is the time frame the movie is set in. I am hoping not to offend, but I don’t think he was being ruthless. He was just being a businessman taking advantage of the setting he was in. His father was the one who dealt with low to mid-level housing, and Trump stated he wanted more than that. NYC was re-inventing itself during that time period, from bankrupt businesses in wealthy districts that were waiting for someone to come in and help lift up the city. I guess, if it wasn’t him, it would have been someone else. Either way, thanks for letting me know the movie was available, and I will be watching Ray Cohen first. I also just bought the original Speak No Evil. I enjoyed the re-make, and have heard that the original was darker and better. In the same lane as The Apprentice, I also loved The Founder. I helped my best friend in college research Ray Croc many years ago, and was thrilled to watch the movie. Yes, he took advantage of the brothers, but he took the business to the next level, creating a world-wide billion dollar franchise. I am not a cut-throat business person, but you have to respect the foresight of these people who can see what the potential is of a business or property, and what will bring a profit, and therefore take the risks to do so. I hope I haven’t disappointed you with my opinions, as I really enjoy the movies you have discussed, but maybe feel differently about the main characters there-in. Thank you for sharing your opinions. I value them very much, and have made many purchases based on them that I enjoy. I hope all is well with you and that you continue this series.

@@carolynscadern6787 hi friend and thank you for sharing your insightful comments. I'm always up for hearing how everyone feels about films, books, history, etc. All good on my end. I understand what you're saying about the period of time in DT's life. I'll be curious to hear your follow-up after watching the two movies together. It's pretty eye-opening. I remember NYC going through transitions during these times and I know he wanted more than what his father was going to allow. I think you'll see how Roy Cohn was really the driving force behind many good and bad decisions for not just DT but for many. A very complex, dark person but fascinating. Thanks so much for watching and sharing. I really do appreciate your thoughts and taking the time to check out the video. I'll definitely keep this going because it's one of my favorite segments and people seem to enjoy it. Hope all is well. 😊

I've not seen either version of Speak No Evil, but your sentiment on it reminds me of Let Me In vs. Let The Right One In where everyone likes the original more than the remake though both versions are great. Hi friend. I can see where you'd link the two. I don't remember off hand the time between the original and the remake of the Let Me In/Let The Right One In movies but the Speak No Evil was about two years. It seemed odd to me to do almost a shot for shot remake after that short time. They added things to the new one but it felt more like padding than substance. It's not bad by any means, I'm just not sure it was needed. But I guess it's just another horror movie to watch, which is never bad. They're both worth a look if you're interested. Thanks so much for watching and hope all is well. 😊
