It's La Monte, not Le. This is called Raag Bhairava, not Raga for Ravi. Their guru was named Pran Nath, so if anything they'd sang for him, not to some Ravi Shankar allusion.

Do we know when this particular recording was released? Must be post 70 after having brought Pran Nath and training under him? Would also love to know who were all the participants in this recording. Is this not the Just Alap Raga Ensemble?

Fresh, hard-edged, sassy sonic crystals… delightfully optimistic stuff. I do wonder whether Babbitt hoped I could follow the math lattices he composed by; sorry, Milton, no way, but sliding off your surfaces is wonderful (I especially enjoy the stutterings… those very rapid repetitions of short phrases).
