quick question, in order to shiny hunt it yo u have to have shiny charm and thats it right?

How did you find 3-4 goomys in a row in random encounters? Their encounter rate is only 15% while surfing there?

I got a shiny mewtwo after probably around 1-1.2k resets (I had the shiny charm) and I agree that it is very stressful to catch shiny mewtwo. Also, why did you sit through the cutscene every encounter? I just pressed the plus button to skip the cutscene and got it in about 5 days.

was this on delta emulator?

Great video, thanks for showing us. I caught mine today at 499 encounters with the shiny charm, I fainted and returned to it, and also some camping, both were helpful and it only took me a few days 😊

Sadly its fake cus the manahpy egg is only obtainable durning the pokemon ranger event and there shud be red text talking abote the event.

Just a PSA for people who might still be under the misconception that the runaway method is faster - it's not. Resets are. People forget to take into account the extra time it takes bc you have to sit through the battle segue animations + text boxes when you run away, whereas when you reset you can do so as soon as you see it's not a shiny. So one "cycle" essentially ends up taking the same amount of time. The only difference is that resets literally require 0 attention or effort. You can also miss the tiles when doing the puzzle which takes up even more time since you obviously won't do it perfect every time, so in most it cases resetting indeed is the better method, unless you personally would prefer the hunt to be more stimulating.

I used to have Mewtwo shiny, hunted it down on all odds and found him in about a week. Sad thing is my game got deleted, and Im hunting him down again wish me luck

Shiny Gastrodon looked so darn good in these games. The shift to 3D really messed with its colors and made the color change less impactful. Beautiful thing about the 2D games was that even the more subtle shinies actually felt like shiny pokemon worth getting.

Dang dude, I loved the buildup and story behind this hunt! Seeing all the failed Houndooms was both awesome and horrifying knowing how long it takes to find each and every one of those Houndooms just to see them flee! Huge congrats, what an awesome find and what great closure after 6 years!

Wow, I completely forgot the reason you were hunting for this in the first place. Even though the challenge was over a long time ago, you still persisted in chassing the big blue Hound. Massive props for persevering with this hunt until the very end and showcasing that you can obtain anything with that type of determination. Definitely, I'm going to use this as an inspiration when I get back to hunt for its predecessor. Good luck with your future hunts Mark :)

I always tell to every shiny hunter I know it's all about the journey not the result. Anyone can get quick shinies in the new games with busted methods but it's always these kinds of hunts that are really what gives shiny hunting that extra meaning.

I remember being so invested in this hunt years ago! Major congrats on finally catching it after so many phases!!
