actually, the anti-tumor turkey tail polysaccharide PSP is mostly sourced from the turkey tail mycelium. the patented turkey tail PSP used clinically in anti-cancer protocols in china and japan and finland and poland etc. is sourced from turkey tail mycelium (not the growth medium per se) via heat or hot water extraction. various studies/papers indicate this is the case. (the second anti-cancer turkey tail polysaccharide, PSK, is also sourced from turkey tail mycelium plus sporocarpo/fruit body according to published papers.)
