Is there a reason that you heated it up to 180 degrees? Can you do this at a much lower temperature? Thanks

Did the cheese taste sour because of the lemon?

I have found soap, nuts, no matter how many you use does not get the laundry clean. When adding water to soap, nuts, if you don’t use a preservative, bacteria will grow anything that uses water grows bacteria.

I tried this today, it did not work at all so I'm not sure where I went wrong. I pasturized the milk at 165 degrees, cooled it to about 80 degrees, then added the fresh lemon juice-no curds.
@margarethelmuth7337
@margarethelmuth7337 5 ай бұрын
The milk has to be heated to 185 degrees F, no less than 180 and not over 190, and the lemon needs to be added while it is at that hot temperature, not when it’s cooled down, otherwise it won’t work, you said you only heated your milk to 165 degrees F and then you cooled it down to 80 degrees F before you added the lemon juice, I think your temperature was too low, That’s just my thoughts. I hope you’ve had successful cheese making since.

Hi thank you for the recipe, I do have a question. I made it it came out fine but it doesn’t have that distinctive tangy goat cheese flavor did I miss something or what can I do to get that flavor? Thanks again.

I’m getting on in my years now. My grandmother would make that syrup every year. We’d keep containers of it and as children we loved it like hot tea. However, there was a more sinister game at play. That we, as children were not allowed to have. That was my grandmother also made it for re-activating Vodka. In fact she’d have multiple large fermenting bottles running for months and I’m telling you now it wasn’t for the weak. Wink Wink!

My BIGGEST question is are these blocks SAFE to use for your edible garden? If the blocks are leaching chemicals or lime, this CAN'T be SAFE for humin consumtion!
