Hey Ninja, thanks for the information it's very helpful. I just upgraded my PVE from 8.2 to 8.3.1 and my PBS and both went well, no hiccups. I keep in mind to stay up to date so I only have to do minor upgrades, the major upgrades seem like a headache. Great video.

Thank you so much for this! I am getting a raspberry pi 5 with the 256gb ssd. Do the steps change in anyway when running the imager on the NVMe PCIe SSD?

Hi, thank you for your tutorial. I learned to install Docker on RPi, installed portainer and now even installed Pi Hole on Docker using your videos! Please, what adlist are you using? Your Pi Hole shows 213k domains on your adlist, but mine show only 121k after fresh install with StevenBlack list that came with it... THX!

Thanks for this guide! I've been working on rebuilding my Plex server all weekend with same issue as you trying to get the fstab lines right for my Synology shared drive. My biggest issue that I could not get past is spaces in my path, no matter what I tried to close the path I would get errors. I got around this by renaming my shared drive by removing the spaces but was still getting parsed errors. I came across your video and it fixed it!

I am trying to do this on a rpi5 to move to a USB memory stick. I followed the instructions and the responses look the same as yours, but putty just displays a solid block and no user name prompt. when I remove the SD card and try and boot from the USB stick. Do I need to take additional steps for the rpi5?
@helpingninja27 күн бұрын
The video is quite dated today. I think the process with rpi5 and newer OS is much simpler today. I would suggest to look for newer tutorial.

Yea. It’s cool to test the OS theme, but 32 bit, especially Linux Debian is extremely limited. Difficult to do proper software installation, and accidentally installing 64 bit software can cause headaches.
@helpingninja27 күн бұрын
sorry to hear that
@jackrabbit170427 күн бұрын
@@helpingninja All good. Trying to get the 64bit ARM to work on virtualization requires ripped files from the software itself on QEMU. Got it to work, but at the cost of my sanity. Ended up going with adding another windows machine to my home network for now, but I have plans on using a PI for other things in the near future.

pfSense does everything Pi-Hole can do, and more. NO need to connect Pi-Hole to pfSense. I was using Pi-Hole for a while before i had to set up my pfSense router (xfinity download limitations with their hardware). just this past weekend we moved to AT&T for faster upload speeds and better pricing, so i reconfigured my network so everything would play well. The takeaway is... you don't need Pi-Hole and pfSense. pfSense has pfblockerNG and you can setup the IP addresses of which domains to block. I'm sure you'll find several videos about it. Both are great, but you dont need both at the same time.
@helpingninja27 күн бұрын
you don't need it sure, but you can :)

just use this: #lsblk go see for kind of "sdb ---> sdb1"..kind of sda1, sdb1, sdc1, sdd1, sde1, etc... #mkdir fddz #sudo mount /dev/sdb1 ~/fddz #cd fddz #ls . i have debian, but i guess it would be good on any linux terminal.

Worked like a charm on Pi 4 B with Pi OS Bullseye. Thanks for the great tutorial - much simpler than other methods described on YT and elsewhere. For those looking to use this on a 3d printer running Klipper, this was done on my Voron 2.4 running Klipper, and works perfectly.
