It took me a couple of weeks to see the full video but it was worth it. I agree with Greg, SOLW is one of my top favourites, it has ignited my love for this band to a new level, that record is perfectly produced and it is my album of the year and probably my album of the decade for sure. I agree also with Kevin and Frank about Birdmad Girl, what an amazing song, The Top is such a wonderful album full of magic and enchantment, it is right there on my top 3 albums definitely, it has a special place on my list. Disintegration is also an amazing album, this album brings me so many great memories of the late 1989 and 1990, it is incredible how music can transport you to a place and time, almost like time-travel, this album does it for me. Thank you guys.

A lot of great picks here! Nick Cave and The Cure are some of mine as well. Also, not on your list but sitting in the background, Anja Huwe. I thought her album is fantastic. The The’s “Ensoulment” is great as well. Not sure I would put this one on my top 10 list, but I enjoyed A Flock of Seagull’s new album “Some Dreams.”

I really enjoy Around the Sun, and Reveal. Accelerate has amazing energy. Monster was so random and disappointing-I hated it. Final Straw is amazing, and Up is one of their best. I'm not pretentious enough to put time constraints on art-Art is timeless in my opinion. BTW, if art is good, I'd like to listen for a longer period of time. If the cd is too long, but it's good, please acknowledge that you nave ADD. I do not have ADD.

Excellent commentary. Have been a fan of New Model Army since the late 1980's. Unbroken is most excellent and I don't think this band has a bad album. I would put Winter and Thunder and Consolation as my personal favorite releases.

Great list :-) thank you, already downloaded Modern English - Predictably, The Cure is top of my list but followed closely by Sprints and Crows, also enjoyed the return of Jesus and Mary Chain. I'm a big fan of New Model Army and James but didn't find this year's efforts as engaging as the last couple (still good mind you) They probably just need another spin!

They toured Australia in 24 as a support for The Buzzcocks( or what’s left of them) which was bordering on an insult. Modern English well and truly deserving of their own headline tour. Agree with you about Nick Cave - last three albums are sublime. Thanks again for your sharing and look forward to more in 25.

For deep tracks I would suggest Birdland, and also love Richard Butler BT track shineaway which is like a blueprint for Stars on Made of Rain. Mac the knife, and Butlers version of Alabama Song.

1. Dreamtime; 2. Love. After that, in no order, I like the self-titled (Saints Are Down), Hidden City (Sound and Fury is a beautiful ending to the album) and Under the Midnight Sun. I kind of like Ceremony too (I agree they extend some of the songs a bit too much at time, but some nice ballads and change in tempo), less hight octane hard rock in your face than Electric and Sonic Temple for sure. I agree with your assessment of Electric (too monolithic, and so is Sonic Temple to me). By the time I get to their other remaining albums, I am just rocked out. I then need to switch to some progressive or psychedelic rock...
