The new James really surprised me how good it was. Amazing production too. Really enjoying this Topographies album now that you introduced me to it.

New to your channel, some great music. The Modu Moctar behind you is a favorite of this year. Have you listened to Glass Beams. I like them better than Krumgbin, great music coming out of Australia. Look forward to your end of year list. I been working on mine for over a month, so much good music this year.

I need to check out Whitelands. I’m sure I’ll like it as we have VERY similar music tastes. "Deeper Well" is one of the most beautiful songs of the year (along with Beth Gibbons' "Floating on a Moment"). Do you like Chelsea Wolfe? Her new album is my favorite album of the year so far. I’m sure you’ll love it if you haven’t heard it yet as it's right up your alley 😊

Nice list, I need to check out some of them. My favorite so far is Below the Waste by Goat Girl. This band really continues to grow from a rough debut, to varied catchy more melodic songs on their 2nd album, now onto an album with a great flow and atmosphere.

Hi Bret , i intended checking the Anja Huwe album out after reading an article in Record Collector , so I will now! Ive just ordered a copy of the Whitelands album while it's still available (it seems to be rising in price already). I bet I could have got a copy from the Sonic Cathedral stall in Kings Cross when Jesse was over.

I grabbed the Topographies also. It is so great! One I think you would love is the band called SPECTRES and the album name is Presence. I love the 2nd song Old Regime. There sounds is so 80s but just makes me happy and smile. I am not sure how I missed that Modern English. I will have to grab that. Also wanted to let you know how much I am enjoying the Audra - Going to the theatre that I got a few months back.

Great to hear you're enjoying the Topographies album too! I think I have a 7" single from Spectres that I've had in the collection for many years. I think they're from Portland, OR? And THANK YOU about the Audra album!!
@Axel_Foley19706 ай бұрын
@BretHelmsLifeOnThisPlanetBlog SPECTRES are from Vancouver BC but I am sure they must have been around Portland some. You have to check it out and let me know what you think.

Ah yes, Vancouver. That's the same band then. Thanks for mentioning them - I do remember enjoying that single, but haven't checked anything else out.

I’m a new Swiftie after not “getting her” music for years. I really love Tortured Poets. What are your favorite Taylor albums, Bret?
@BretHelmsLifeOnThisPlanetBlog6 ай бұрын
Hmm... I'm gonna have to ponder that. But I can say that 2 of my favorite songs are "Mirrorball" from Folklore and "This Love" from 1989. :)

Same here just getting into Taylor. Funny thing is metal is probably my favorite genre. I love her new album. I got the Target exclusive with the bonus tracks.
