I’ve had a few deep meditative states since a spiritual awakening 7 months ago. These might sound like psychedelic experiences (which I’ve had my share of) but they were not. The first one was earth shattering. I felt as if I was in infinite space but I was nowhere to be found, as if I had disappeared completely, yet was somehow there to experience it. Suddenly the Mandukya Upanishad made total sense to me. It was like maintaining awareness in deep sleep. The next one came in levels, like I was being peeled like an onion. My thought formations came to a complete standstill as if I were Adam before eating from the tree of knowledge. Next I transcended perception and causality. Everything began to merge and I was left in a non dual state with the aggregate of feeling. I felt a huge surge of emotion and eventually felt as if I were surrounded by pixels or glowing embers. The final deep meditative state was the most recent and most blissful. I was meditating on the Bindu, when sound and light became one and my energy was dancing all around me, like I was a bat using echolocation or something. All the sounds around me could be felt as if they were vibrating the very atoms in my body and the space in between. I felt permeated by space. It could only be described as truly ecstatic. I was light and sound and pure energy made out of love. When I focused on the bindu, I felt as if everything were emanating from that point, upon which I felt I had a perfect understanding of reincarnation and karma. I wanted to stay in that state forever. I wish everyone could experience it. However, I studied Tantra and practiced almost nonstop for months to attain it and am still working to stabilize it. It lasted about 4 hours and lingered thru the night. As a side note, your channel really speaks to me; you have a way with words and are obviously very knowledgeable. Much love and gratitude! Ps… I had become aware of very subtle energy and feel I have a blockage causing me severe jaw pain. I went to a meditation center to ask for guidance and the reply was “we are all a bit insane, focus that insanity on your practice. Focus on your breath.” 😂 I might be strange but I am mentally sound. Anyways, Could you offer any suggestions?

Sheesh 8 years this video has been out with almost 2 thousand view and I'm somehow the first comment on this video with the adorable little chipmunk munching away on some seeds. You would think with almost 2 thousand views there would already be some comments already. Apparently not I suppose.

Having stumbled onto your dark night of the soul presentation, while my life and work vaporizes before my eyes and the local jurisprudence threatens the freedom of movement for my golden years, I can sense the call to expand my spiritual training into your areas of expertise. Please contact me with suggestions for the continuance of my ascension. Thank you so much

Thank you! So informative and nuanced. I wonder if you see any similarity to the use of Hindu elemental tattwas to that of kasinas?

"Pleasant, Uplifting" describes both this field of study and this detailed video. It's a valuable addition to my meditation library. Thank You! . . . ____ ( more added later to my comment) : inspired by this video I made a simple kasina (used painters tape to make square shape on a small rectangular art board; painted the square smooth solid blue; removed tape when paint was completely dry). Tried to be mindful of every movement, start to finish, making that kasina. Result is that mindfully making kasina was calming and improved my mood. Using my square blue kasina for meditation is still in after-image stage but it is a pleasant calming activity and, based on Lama Lodro's experience, I expect to get more results with time.

USEFUL information for ALL meditators, not just Buddhists! It's extremely interesting to learn that a "Kasina" formed of beautiful objects found in nature or created from easy art we make for ourselves (simple circles & squares coloured with crayons) are valid objects of concentration used in 2500-year-old meditation exercises. MANY Thanks for freely sharing this enjoyable teaching!

What a beautiful place. I do hope that you will make more of the lectures....and maybe enable comments? I especially love the lucid dreaming one. (i don't watch or listen to the ones that have so many cuts though because it is so distracting.) The information is so valuable. I thank you so much for sharing and please do more!
