SELF-DEFEATING attitudes, Poor SELF-IMAGE, and persistent SELF-DESTRUCTIVE behavior sometimes have roots in EARLY Childhood TRAUMA that might have started before and during the process of your birth. . . . .*( More in SHOW MORE )*
If trauma forms at those early stages in your life and is strongly reinforced by further childhood traumas, it may cause deep-seated negative conditioning that could cause a skewed view of yourself and set a template for persistent patterns of problematic attitudes and behaviours that continually repeat themselves during life.
Understanding the earliest, uncontrollable origins of trauma from early in our lives can help us here and now take better control of our healing and more effectively steer our personal liberation away from negatively-conditioned templates of inner hindrances that may have roots in early childhood trauma.
The reference book recommended by Lama Lodro in this talk is "The Womb, Karma and Transcendence" written by the Venerable Namgyal Rinpoche.
The book "The Womb, Karma, and Transcendence" includes the 16 Buddha-Body meditation exercise plus many other exercises that help clear trauma, improve well being, encourage healthy exploration, and support a natural growth into a more complete, more fulfilled, happier person.
"The Womb, Karma, and Transcendence" can be purchased at (non-profit) Bodhi Publishing: bodhipublishing....
