The difference between plastisol transfers and screenprinting using plastisol ink is like the difference between a frozen pizza and a wood fired pizza. They are both pizzas and both taste like pizzas but there is a different. The main differences would be the quality of the feel and screenprinting will definitely out live the garment as the heat pressed design will peel especially at the edges.

@@felixramirezI can see this argument being valid but I have several garments that I pressed 2 years ago that have minimal wear/tear vs professionally screenprinted shirts that are showing its age. The only thing is the feel on the edges that aren’t perfect, but if it looks fine then are we wearing the garment or the print?

It depends how much you're willing to put into it. There is A LOT you have to learn about embroidery, but as long as you take it seriously and put a little bit of time into it every single day you'll be up and running in less than a month. There are always new things that you'll learn as things don't go your way but I was embroidering hats within 2-3 weeks of getting the machine, but I also spent 3-5 weeks watching videos and taking notes before I got the machine.

@ikendoitdotstudio
@ikendoitdotstudio Ай бұрын
No problem! I also understand your concern -- to be quite frank, I don't think transfers alone look that great on hats unless it's specifically made for athletic wear or it's part of a design. The patches are a game changer for sure and I haven't had any come off my hats. It's been over a year since I made first set of hats and haven't had any problems with the patches as long as they're made with high quality adhesive.

Very helpful and encouraging advice! First caught you on the HPN youtube podcast a bit ago. My husband and I are just starting out and do plan on keeping our full time jobs for some time. If our experience helps anyone else: get your business license/dba/website, blanks, transfers etc going even before you think you are ready. I was putting that off until we were ready to sell. This week we were finally happy with our printing and pressing results so we shared the design with some people we know in a chat just to feel things out and it kind of blew up. So we applied for our license yesterday and are putting our shopify together, but the license takes up to 10 business days and we've had to order our pro clubs at retail for now and will be playing serious catch up for a few weeks. We won't even be able to get the first shirts out until later next week.

However vinyl's can get you great textures. Plastisol is limited to flush finish with the garment. Vinyls can give you raised look, suede look. etc. I agree with the limitations bit. Very helpful video overall thanks!

@@ikendoitdotstudio well first of all, I could say this you are the first person to say how to make the videos more accessible just because of that you are a great person thank you. I would say bring the camera closer and just stay a little bit closer than normal when you’re talking about stuff meaning you stay longer so instead of 30 seconds make it 45 seconds so I’m able to understand what’s happening, and if you could be more descriptive of let’s say oh an inch away from the sides or this or that I think it doesn’t only make it accessible for me, but it will make it more clear for other people newbies and stuff like that I’ve been embroider for two years so I know what you’re doing sometimes I would like to be more engaged when it comes to visual aspects but it’s difficult so if you could explain a little bit of Tracy and that will be great. It would be amazing if you could figure this out to maybe teach and maybe help me figure out how to do better because that’s one thing I’ve never learned how to do, but you’re doing great. Congratulations. Keep it up but I would like to ask you how did you get Rick to respond to you? I’ve been trying to get them to sponsor me for a long time that has not worked and you see all sorts of people, but they have somebody with a physical disability team and I think that having somebody with a physical and visual disability is going to round, the whole team better yourself Patrice in so many people are great at what they do, but none of them have disabilities and I think that I could round input the group together and we could make it like a cohesive team the last thing that I think it would be cool is maybe see how everyone an influencer could actually be part of TV and we could do videos on specific tasks that they don’t cover in normal videos what do you think? Let me know you could always reach me at my cell phone 786287-9723. Thanks.
