How about make hair bones that can colliding to the solid objects without using physics only bones and constraints?

honestly, I want to learn with this tutorial, but I can't there's steps unexplained and I always stop at around 1:45 Ish because the hierarchy doesn't make sense to me, and I'm constantly finding myself moving the hip bone when finishing it and nothing moves with it. whenever I extrude bones, they never stay together and its quite frustrating.

I would LOVE to try this tutorial, but once I opened the BouncingBall_Rig.blend I don't get pose mode any more. I also can't move the ball without the shape changing.

"what you may not know" nah dude i can see no offense but you set up the expectations way too high with the video title and the beginning. I appreciate the technical insight though

Hi Rich! I’m actually currently writing a paper on tail flexibility of a dinosaur. In this instance I believe that I will have to create 46 individual muscles per muscle group; M. longissimus, caudofemoralis, spinalis and ilio-ischiocaudalis and then connect them from each individual vertebrae to the legs, pelvis etc. do you know if this would be too much computing power? Also, with this amount of musculature, it would impede slightly on overall tail flexibility, is there a way in which I can add a restriction to overall tail flexibility using the muscles created? Thanks for any help you can provide and this video has already helped me loads!
@richstubbsanimation
@richstubbsanimation 17 күн бұрын
My approach would be to only focus on the main/larger muscle groups for this. Generally these types of set ups are for simulating jiggle or fat moving, however since tails are usually very muscular it probably wouldn't make much sense to simulate any of it, and you could just rig these muscles with bendy bones and skip out the simulation. This would inevitably save on computing power. Hope this helps!

You mentioned how, but you never really mention why. I want extra control in my limbs to warp and stretch based on camera angle as movie rigs do, which is why i came here. But why you keep duplicating the bendy bones and making multiple? What one do you weight paint to? Whats the use for the other ones in the exact same position? I honestly have a lot more questions than i came here with xP

This set up is a more advanced set up to just using regular bendy bones. This set up allows you to move and adjust volume across a mesh, while still having the ability to move two bones. Think of it as an arm or a leg set up. For skinning, you would skin the last set of two bones to the mesh. The first bone is used as a driver, and the rest as controls. You can download the project files for free if you want to take a deeper dive into the entire set up, hope that helps

Bro. Realtalk. Its really hard to follow if you go this fast. slow down. nobody cares if that doubles the length of the video but if i have to pause every 2 seconds to follow up, its really exhausting. Also makes it hard to follow what exactly you're doing on each step.
@aronhelios1734
@aronhelios1734 15 күн бұрын
He's going very slow, tho? You're supposed to know Blender's basic controls and to watch the tutorials by paying attention at least the first time. Rigging isn't easy by any means anyway.

@@aronhelios1734 im not exepcting shit to be easy, and its great that hes slow by pro standards, but most of the people stumbling upon tutorials are probably doing this for the first time. bc if youve done it a few times you probably wont need a tutorial.

There's nothing wrong with this. It's a great 3D rendition of Prime that was clearly animated with great precision. The problem is in the claim that you're trying to make it look like the original 2D cartoon, which a 3D animation will never look like. It doesn't look 2D at all. It's the intention that annoys people, and frankly, knowing this is your intention does diminish your hard work.

make sure you're using the latest version of blender. If you're still having issues, you can add the bones to bone collections manually by selecting the pose menu at the top of the 3d viewport and selecting add to bone collections from the dropdown menu. If you're in edit mode, select the armature menu and follow the same steps.

I tried to follow this but certain things just aren't working out. When I shift click between the bones, it doesn't automatically set up the copy transforms. I'm having to do it bone by bone. And for some reason, when I set the model to the deformer bones the left shoulder would not paint to the bones. So I had to redo a couple of times.
