It really pains me to hear you attacking the Bible so much in the first 15 minutes. You're attacking the resurrection. And to me it's really shameful because you're reading versus that are contradicting what you're even trying to establish. Because if Jesus was crucified on Friday like you claim then Matthew 2813 contradiction because why would they say that you are to tell them that they took Jesus while everyone was sleeping because that would then mean only one day passed. Not only that Jesus clearly says 3 days and three nights and you can't get that out of a Friday crucifixion with the Sabbath Resurrection because that's what would have had to occur for someone to steal his body at night. Plus we know the first fruits were cut as soon as Sabbath was over which means the first fruits already had to be out of the ground
@debblouin
@debblouin 22 сағат бұрын
So on what day was Jesus crucified and on what day did He rise? And what is your point? Oh wait! I see you are a 7th Day Sabbath adherent. That must color your interpretation of scripture. Careful, there.
@debblouin
@debblouin 22 сағат бұрын
According to Strong’s Concordance, the word translated days is hemera: and has both denotative and connotative meanings. It is important to understand that. The concordance also has a definition which explicates the difference between western and eastern understandings of the concept of “day”. Don’t impose a western understanding unless you can make clear the proper meaning without eisegesis.

@@billhesford6098 yes the disciples were gathered but he spun it around to make it sound like this is the start of Sunday service. I just think it's absurd. Also, on a Jewish calendar, you cannot get 3 days and 3/9 out of a Friday crucifixion and it's clear that the first fruits are also cut as soon as the Sabbath ends so you have Jesus being in the grave for about 24 hours if it's a Friday crucifixion. Which then makes Jesus look like a liar because Jesus said he's going to be in the grave for 3 days and three nights. And there is no such thing as a Jewish idiom that 3 days and three nights means less than 3 days and three nights because I have proven that in videos

@Bruce: Please answer the following question as a trained lawyer and Bible scholar. I am watching the Trunp trial and since he is accused of orchestrating the scheme and not executing it a lot hinges on criminal intent. Now in the Bible we read: John 7:51 (ESV): "Does our law judge a man without first giving him a hearing and learning what he does?". I conclude that questioning the accused is well adviced. I personally do not know any Biblical instruction of wisdom supporting the 5th amemdment which allows anyone to refuse to give an account. Is there a Biblical justification for the 5th amendment?

You did fine until you got to the end. The New Jerusalem came in AD 70. The great white throne judgement of the dead was I n AD 70.. Hades was emptied in AD 70. The day of the Lord began in AD 70 and continues today. There is no end of time, only the end of the age. You should know this! The spreading of the word continues after the coming of the New Jerusalem according to chapter 22. Everything in the Bible points to full preterism not partial preterism. Why did you pull your punch at the end and not go to the logical conclusion?

So... You're saying that Enslaving Human Beings is the Christian Church Doctrine enshrined in the US Constitution.
@GoreBruce
@GoreBruce 3 күн бұрын
For those with a sincere interest in this question: The southern states were emphatic that unless a compromise was allowed for the entrenched systems of slavery, a constitution uniting all the colonies would be impossible. There were Christian voices that vigorously opposed slavery at the time, as I document elsewhere in this series. A 'sunset' clause was added in the Constitution that prohibited importing new slaves 20 years after the Constitution was ratified, in the hope that the slavery itself would gradually disappear from atrophy over time.

@@GoreBruce I sincerely appreciate you sharing your point of view on this subject. ______ My position is quite succinct... The United States maintenance of Enslaving People based upon Complexion and the treatment of the Native American Population via the US "Manifest Destiny" Christian concepts (being taught in American Grade School History Classes to this day) is what Christianity is really all about. Even to this day, Conservatives are supporting taking America back to the Little House on the Prairie days of White Supremacy (reversing whatever legal opinions are required to get there... back to say---Dred Scott Decision). This Conservative Religious focused COURT is what the Churches Moral Majority so called Pro Life Political Party position moving from the past century of Democrats/Dixiecrats essentially through the Nixon into Reagan Administration going forward: more and more extreme Conservative Churches and Republican Party. This so called Pro Life Political stuff is all about taking America back to the past century via the Courts and Political Party apparatus. www.politico.com/news/magazine/2022/05/10/abortion-history-right-white-evangelical-1970s-00031480 I am citing from the above article from POLITICO... there's many other sources as well on support of my assertion. --------- I'm not doubting your sincerity at all. However, today's American Churches are openly supporting armed insurrection if they don't have their way politically. History of the interwar years of Germany (1918 going forward) the Churches and the Christians in Germany and Europe in general... favoured the Italian Fascists and the German Nazis. Indeed, the Catholic Pope got back a "Vatican City" supporting Mussolini and the Fascist Politics putting the Jews in jeopardy. The Vatican City was established in 1929 by Mussolini and the Pope getting into a political deal. The Churches in Germany supported the rise of the Nazis into power politics assisting Hitler and the Holocaust coming to pass. Sir, bearing this in mind. Clearly today's American Churches are supporting the return of Nazi Germany type stuff... using the "Original Constitution is Christian" rhetoric. I accept that perhaps the plan/idea was as you so graciously responded to me explaining why and what happened back then. However, these people today are supporting something on the level of say "The Catholic Inquisition"... which lasted 500 years through 80 consecutive Popes. The Churches have supported some really terrible times in America...1920-1022 era of Tulsa, OK and Rosewood, FL type behavior. It's that very point you raised about the Southern States saying that if they couldn't have White Supremacy they'd rather destroy the country back then. I knew about that from my own studying and such. I truly think America has arrived at the moment that those same people preaching going back in time to yesteryear...are supporting the same thing: either America goes back or they're saying destroy democracy. There's nothing "Jesus" about that in any way. I'm just saying... the Churches are preaching this stuff from the Pulpits. No? I'm asking...

@@GoreBruce thanks for the information. However, today's Supreme Court already reversed Women Rights and this is going back to the Dred Scott Decision... With the American Churches supporting this stuff. Legal precident ( I may have misspelled it) has been established with the Dobbs decision. And revoking the Prohibition Constitutional Amendment in 1933... means 14 Amendment can be revoked as well and Boom Slavery is legal. Dobbs decision Supreme Court used British Decisions from the 17th century of a Woman Burning Man (the Witch burning Prosecutor one of the Supreme Court Justice (Alito's) cited in their decision.) I'm trying to figure out exactly how Jesus fits into any of this stuff Christian Voters support this going back in time to yesteryear...

In Revelation 20 it says this, "Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. 2 He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; 3 and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should DECEIVE THE NATIONS NO MORE till the thousand years were finished. So, if you say we are in the Millennium now, that means, according to scripture, Jesus is reigning, and Satan is bound so as not to deceive the nations anymore. Satan is absolutely deceiving the nations; you have whole nations that are steeped in Islam, worshipping Allah instead of Christ. Some nations worship Buddha or one of the 300 million Hindu Gods. Other nations (communist nations) are atheistic. Then how can you say Jesus is reigning already from Heaven when we have a wicked sinful world? 2nd Timothy 3:1-5 it says, “There will be terrible times in the LAST days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God." IF Christ were reigning, do we really think we would have over a billion Muslims, who view Jesus as a prophet right below Mohamad, a billion Buddhists, who believe Jesus was an enlightened person, a billion Hindus, who believe Jesus studied yoga and became a guru to the Jews, a billion Catholics who are entrusting their souls to Mary at the hour of their death, nearly a billion atheists, the LGBTQ running rampant, TV shows and movies, that continually blaspheme God and His Christ, alcohol, drugs, human trafficking, and colleges that have become propaganda mills that promote Godless, Big-bang theology and Darwinian Evolution, and a host of other sinful deeds that will be eliminated during the reign of Jesus Christ, our Holy God. But ONLY during the Millennial Reign is Satan bound so as not to deceive the nations. So, the Millennial Reign has to be different, in fact better than the rest of history. Outside of the Millennial Reign, Satan is not bound, so he is clearly deceiving the nations. This means, in a nutshell, when Satan is not bound=bad times. When Satan is bound=good times, nations NOT deceived. I think you are convinced on preterism whether scripture agrees or not.

Ive been a hardcore dispensationalist since I came to Christ 16 years ago. These lectures have forced me to rethink my position. The Jewish expectation concerning the kingdom and the force of that pressure on the eschatology of the early church makes a whole lot of sense to me and is a powerful argument for why later church fathers would rethink that position. Its alot to consider. At any rate think you for this thoughtful and learned series of lectures.

5:03 Matthew 22:27-33 Living Bible 27 And then she also died. 28 So whose wife will she be in the resurrection? For she was the wife of all seven of them!” 29 But Jesus said, “Your error is caused by your ignorance of the Scriptures and of God’s power! 30 For in the resurrection there is no marriage; everyone is as the angels in heaven. 31 But now, as to whether there is a resurrection of the dead-don’t you ever read the Scriptures? Don’t you realize that God was speaking directly to you when he said, 32 ‘I am the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob’? So God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.”[a] 33 The crowds were profoundly impressed by his answers- [32:13] Had we willed, we could have given every soul its guidance, but it is already predetermined that I will fill Hell with jinns and humans, all together. Ezekiel 28:9 Living Bible 9 Then will you boast as a god? At least to these invaders you will be no god, but merely man! The corrupted Muslims insist upon adding a second "Shahaadah" proclaiming that Muhammad is God's messenger. This is by definition "Shirk" (idolatry) and a flagrant defiance of God and His messenger. Jeremiah 2:27 Living Bible 26-27 Like a thief, the only shame that Israel knows is getting caught. Kings, princes, priests, and prophets-all are alike in this. They call a carved-up wooden post their father, and for their mother they have an idol chiseled out from stone. Yet in time of trouble they cry to me to save them!

bruce's comment on women taking the message of the Gospel which women should do but the message shall be to their daughters and younger women in the Church as paul instructs women to teach their daughters to respect their husbands. woman to women ministry is clearly Biblical but instructing men in not Biblical. i agree with bruce as the Holy Spirit was setting the stage for women to be actively involved in the Church but because eve sinned and brought adam into the transgression, (thus paul is now arguing not from a customary practice of the day, but from a theological view point) women are not to have authority over men. men are to be the leaders in the Church if this were not so why wouldn’t Jesus have chosen at least one women from among his 70 or so disciples who followed Him to be one of the 12 apostle as it was customary for Jesus ignore traditions and biases of the time which come into conflict with His preaching? women’s roll or ministries, in the Church should be many and their opinions and advise heard: for there is neither male nor female in the Body of Christ. the Bible tells us that ministry both in the Church and at home, where leadership is involved, women are not to exercise authority over their husband nor men in the Church; for we the Churches of God have no other pratice. @GoreBruce
@GoreBruce 10 күн бұрын
Calvin championed the idea of human equality, rooted in the twin themes of the 'imago dei' on the one hand and 'total depravity' on the other. There is no hint of any racist idea in Calvin's writings based on skin color or any other incident of birth. At the time of his writing, this philosophy of human equality was a minority view in the extreme, as notions of aristocracy, nobility, commoner, peasant, were taken for granted.
