I actually think the designs in the movie are fine. It’s live action, so it makes sense to make them look more like actual chipmunks in order to blend in with the environment, a little better and feel less uncanny. If they design them, you wouldn’t be able to tell what they actually were. And the shows, they’re just shapes. They look human. This situation, unlike sonic, it would actually be more uncanny that way. Despite the realistic designs, they gave them cartoon features and made them look cute. And I can verify that kids thought they were cute. I’ve literally heard them express this. Lastly, the chipmunks originally looked like more realistic chipmunks until the first cartoon. So it’s not the most unfaithful thing.

Having to tell anyone that Alvin and the chipmunks has existed since prior to those movies is wild to me….

I truly understand the point of this video, but allow me to voice my own thoughts. I myself am a young person, who has grown up with this technology but i also grew up having my parents or grandparents buy DVDs or blue rays and i have memories of the getting pizza and watching star wars around our tv with my family, but throughout my days the relation of having this tech and having the pop culture knowledge has brought me some of my greatest friends i will ever have. The technology isnt the problem, its how its utilized and how its balanced that matter. I also understand the feeling of not having anymore adventure, but if you think about it the tech and world around changing so rapidly makes our lives special and its own adventure due to the fact that we are experiencing something that generations after us will only experience in a totally different setting. Life itself is an Adventure, being alive and experiencing what its like to type on a laptop, type on a phone, view media that we could only ever see in a theater is an adventure. Adventure comes from what we make of life and what we use around us.

Some of you might know that David Cross got treated horribly on the set of the third movie and he said it was the worst experience of his entire career. He was also insulted ruthlessly by some of his fellow actors for choosing to star in the films. That’s so messed up because he was by far the best part of the entire franchise and the movies were better solely because of him. His talents were wasted on this trash franchise and they should’ve been kissing his feet for agreeing to be in it.
