Hello from a fellow Ontarian! I as well found this to be the most informative of the videos I have watched. Thank you! Have you hiked the LeCloche Circuit in Killarney Park? If so, how would you compare the hike up to Mirador Torres to "The Crack" or "Silver Peak"?
@YYZWanderers6 күн бұрын
Hey! 🇨🇦 Didn’t do La Cloche but a quick look at All Trails and the O circuit has about 2x elevation gain. But you don’t have elevation everyday so you get breaks. We hiked the Crack like 10 yrs ago and that is a cakewalk compared to the Mirador. It’s not technical and by the time you’re tired of elevation gain, you’re there. Fitz Roy in Argentina was way steeper than Torres. We just finished the TMB and that was a killer. Lmk if you want to know how we trained as it’s impossible to hike hills in Ont.

Enough with the "discovered" BS that the colonial European countries forced down the throat of indigenous people. Magellan didn't discover anything. The land has always been there, it has people on it

The Madeira government has just implemented a trail-use fee of 3€ immediately on it´s most popular hikes and must be paid online before your hike on their Symplifica website. If you don’t, you can face a fine of about 50€. More trails will be added over time so be sure to check.

Did you bring your own tent? When booking campsites am I able to use all of my own gear including cooking ? Great video thank you for the helpful information!
@YYZWanderers29 күн бұрын
We ended up renting their tents which are already set up at each camp when you arrive but you can bring your own, plus your own sleeping pad, food, cooking gear & gas canister. Just pick the option without tent included on the menu. They are well setup to accommodate self-catering at all the sites with dishwashing sinks (Chileno was a tiny table but at least they offered the space). Not always soap when we were there so bring your own). We only saw gas being sold at 2 (P. Grande, Grey) and partial used free ones at Paine Grande kitchen that people left behind. Have fun!

I love how in depth and informative you go in this video! Since it is budget friendly, how much would you say is a good budget for this length of trip?
@YYZWanderersАй бұрын
If you jump to 36:33 (chapter links in the description also), we laid out how much we spent on airfare, accommodations and car rentals for 2 people, 2 weeks. Sorry, it looks like the video ended before this but there’s a whole section at the end with the details. I’ll keep that in mind for our next video. FYI, restaurant mains cost 15-25 euros per person. Groceries are inexpensive, and we made use of the kitchen at our accommodations to offset some costs. Let us know if you have anymore questions.

Much appreciate the well constructed video and blog which I will use as a reference for my trek. Do most people take the ferry to PG and back to the Park entrance.? Did you pre-book the bus back to Puerto Natales?
@YYZWanderersАй бұрын
Glad it was helpful! PG and Central are the 2 main start/finish sites. If you’re doing the W, you can go in either direction ie start in PG, finish in Central or vice versa. You need to take the ferry to get over to PG. If you are doing the O, I preferred starting at PG to get my hiking weight down by the time I got to the John Garner pass as we were carrying most of our food. I booked both the buses to/from in advance. I don’t think you can buy on the spot. They only scan the QR code of your ticket but you can check. Happy to answer any of your questions, feel free to send via email at [email protected] Happy planning!

I really enjoyed your video of Eleuthera; it's so friendly and relaxed, your connection to nature. Just as is Eleuthera (Freedom!) is. Enjoy and keep sharing your travels! I was guided spiritually to Eleuthera when I asked myself where to go in the Bahamas in 2000. I felt the urge to go there, have a vacation again. Eleuthera came up, I had to look it up if this really existed and landed in Rock Sound from Nassau, first time in The Bahamas. In my experience, this family island is truly an amazing place. Especially Harbour Island. I ended up there because I wanted to see the Pink Sand beaches. This is one of my (two) paradise islands who I always keep in my heart and have fond memories 💙🐬☀😎❤ When you go there, keep in mind it's a small island so keep it clean. And when you decide to do scuba diving, that where I saw the big ones/fish instead of the coral fish.
@YYZWanderers2 ай бұрын
Thanks for sharing your story, I wonder if Eleuthera has changed a lot since 2000. And agree, we have to be good visitors, reduce/minimize garbage especially if no facilities exist. It’s something we are more mindful of now that we’re travelling more.

As a subscriber, I was surprised to see this was twice as long as previous videos, but was rewarded by the history, scenery, and variety that this truly amazing, rugged little island provides. I would be daunted by hiking trails that go through tunnels, under waterfalls, and along high, cliff-hugging carved paths less than two feet wide. Only vicariously could I enjoy many of the spectacular vistas the video shows. My favorite scene was the blow hole at Porto da Cruz. From where it was shot, could you hear a thunderous roar?
@YYZWanderers2 ай бұрын

I thought I was infertile. But i went to that rock with my bros just to check it out. Didn't even want kids at that point. Touched the rock paid my respects while my friends were jumping on it and acting like donkeys.... Soon after I got my gf pregnant. Two awesome and beautiful kids later, they still have none... Thats over a decade later. My oldest is nine and my youngest is 4. I go there almost every year just to pay respects, enjoy, and support the economy. I love Molokai. When it's hot that's the place to be. Just visit and cool down. But I don't touch, cause I'm done. Lol.

How many minutes Oahu to Molokai?
@YYZWanderers3 ай бұрын
45 minutes, but it's because the planes are smaller and don't fly as fast as the big ones on the other islands. It went by pretty quickly - no line ups to board, check in or get luggage so I guess that makes up for the time.

As someone who is not from Molokai, but who visits often to help friends at their homesteads, something important to cover is how the people here struggle to keep Molokai, Molokai. You should post more about the people and lifestyle here than just recommendations for tourists. This island does not want to be dependent on tourism, it does not want to be like the other islands. If you want Molokai to stay Molokai, do not blast it all over social media.
