Glad it was helpful! It’s a fairly confusing and daunting task booking on your own with a different itinerary which is why we tried to share as much as we can. I also have tips on our website blog. Appreciate the feedback too!

You’ll love it! I have planning tips on our blog - click the link in our bio to the website I have 3 posts on Patagonia. Bookings for 2024/2025 season started in July so not sure how space is as demand is high for the spots unless you mean 2025/26 season. Happy to help out in any way! We’re on the TMB now and it made booking Torres seem so easy! 🦙

Oh that’s great!! We did the TMB in 2018, Laugavegur in 2023, and just finished the West Highland Way this year! TMB was our favorite! Have a great time and stay strong and healthy you two!! 😃 I saw your blog already.

Thank you very much for this very complete video of the place... you have very smartly organized your tour, especially because you began by Camping Pehoe... Coming from Argentina (USHUAIA) I have been there for a part of W trek as I didn't book for anything in advance, not knowing if Chile would ask for vax certificate, which finally they did not... Next year I will do the whole O trek... was there feb 20, 2023. I am from Belgium... What I loved the most was the trek from Paine Grande to Grey refuge and back, and Salto Grande area... would also like next time to explore river Serrano area...

So glad you liked the video! U will love the O. Many people we met did the W before and this was their 2nd visit to complete the O. I couldn’t find any info on doing the route this way so was very glad it worked out. If you stay at Camping Pehoé next time, ask for a site across the street - u will get likely unobstructed views right from your tent as there aren’t many trees in that part. We just published our Ushuaia video today, memories are making me want to go back too! Did you go to El Chalten?

Wow! Amazing video! Thanks for sharing your experiences as well as tips for those of us who are planning to do this as well. We plan on staying in camp pehoe too however it seems like summer months cannot be reserved online. May I know how you made the reservation? Is it ok if there is no advance booking?
@YYZWanderers
@YYZWanderers 5 ай бұрын
Thanks for the great feedback! Do you mean their summer (Dec on) - it may not be open yet for reservations and they close during winter. It is hard to get a hold of someone in the off season but try their whatsapp in a few months or the online booking maybe open then too. Have fun!!!!

Did you bring your own tent? When booking campsites am I able to use all of my own gear including cooking ? Great video thank you for the helpful information!
@YYZWanderers
@YYZWanderers 29 күн бұрын
We ended up renting their tents which are already set up at each camp when you arrive but you can bring your own, plus your own sleeping pad, food, cooking gear & gas canister. Just pick the option without tent included on the menu. They are well setup to accommodate self-catering at all the sites with dishwashing sinks (Chileno was a tiny table but at least they offered the space). Not always soap when we were there so bring your own). We only saw gas being sold at 2 (P. Grande, Grey) and partial used free ones at Paine Grande kitchen that people left behind. Have fun!

Much appreciate the well constructed video and blog which I will use as a reference for my trek. Do most people take the ferry to PG and back to the Park entrance.? Did you pre-book the bus back to Puerto Natales?
@YYZWanderers
@YYZWanderers Ай бұрын
Glad it was helpful! PG and Central are the 2 main start/finish sites. If you’re doing the W, you can go in either direction ie start in PG, finish in Central or vice versa. You need to take the ferry to get over to PG. If you are doing the O, I preferred starting at PG to get my hiking weight down by the time I got to the John Garner pass as we were carrying most of our food. I booked both the buses to/from in advance. I don’t think you can buy on the spot. They only scan the QR code of your ticket but you can check. Happy to answer any of your questions, feel free to send via email at yyzwanderers@gmail.com Happy planning!

Hello from a fellow Ontarian! I as well found this to be the most informative of the videos I have watched. Thank you! Have you hiked the LeCloche Circuit in Killarney Park? If so, how would you compare the hike up to Mirador Torres to "The Crack" or "Silver Peak"?
@YYZWanderers
@YYZWanderers 6 күн бұрын
Hey! 🇨🇦 Didn’t do La Cloche but a quick look at All Trails and the O circuit has about 2x elevation gain. But you don’t have elevation everyday so you get breaks. We hiked the Crack like 10 yrs ago and that is a cakewalk compared to the Mirador. It’s not technical and by the time you’re tired of elevation gain, you’re there. Fitz Roy in Argentina was way steeper than Torres. We just finished the TMB and that was a killer. Lmk if you want to know how we trained as it’s impossible to hike hills in Ont.

Glad it helped. We were on the trail Jan22-Feb1 this year. We weren’t sure how fast we wanted to go so did not skip any campsites. It’s peak season but it was fine. It only felt truly busy at the miradors and Paine Grande. Are you planning to do the Q as well?

@carolyncoe131 so weird, got your question in my email but can’t find it on the video to respond to it. Bookings open early July for the next season, so book in July 2024 for the Oct 2024- April 2025 season. To save $, we booked directly with the 2 park operators. Hope this helps and please ask any other questions you have.

@YYZWanderers
@YYZWanderers Жыл бұрын
@@carolyncoe131 we used this online map to plan and understand distances and time. Our website blog has a couple articles on planning tips as well that may be helpful, link is in the ‘about’ section in our youtube page. There are no maps for sale at the campsites or visitors centre. We saw a historic map for sale in Puerto Natales and the Paine Grande shop but it’s more of a souvenir type than a real map. torresdelpaine.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/Mapa2017-2018.pdf

I (Karen) am pretty paranoid about bathroom stops and I never had to go while hiking. On the long sections eg after John Garner Pass, there is a western toilet at the check in at Camp Paso. If you do need to go in the bushes, make sure to look up ‘Leave No Trace’ principles ie 200ft away from water sources and to pack any waste out. I brought little doggy poop bags for TP and a kula cloth but never had to go. On the W, the distances aren’t too long between. There is a toilet at camp italiano for the frances lookout hike but no TP so pack that. The Argentina Fitz Roy side is another story.
