I must be stupid because I had to watch this video at least 15 times and tried to do this every time, I couldn't figure it out. And then I said, screw it, one more time, and then it worked! Yea, I'm probably just stupid, lol.

My daughters first year and she is averaging 270 to 275 in the tournaments and we couldn't be prouder. We are here in Kentucky she is in middle school now and is shooting right along with the high school kids. Each time out she keeps improving. Thanks for the NASP program.

im left eye dominant and left hand dominant (pulling the string), so i presume i need a left handed bow?

and if I pull it back and I see the target with both eyes ofcentered, left is too left and right is too right

How often should you wax your bow?

Very Helpful video…managed to teach me how to string my son’s bow with no experience. If you update this i would recommend not using black string on black parts and showing what specific steps should look like when done.

Where would I find out how to get into competition and find a local trainer that uses Genesis? My son bought me the Gen X and I love it. Of course the course is covered in snow right now .. but am very interested in competition in the future

For my case I unconsciously hold the bow on my left because I feel more comfortable shooting it than my right hand but when I hold the bow with my right hand even tho I hold it correctly I still feel like I’m holding the bow the wrong way so hold and shoot the on which hand that you feel comfortable with when shooting it is much better

This actually isn't 100% true. I know mini shooters especially with guns who are left eye dominant but shoot right handed. Yes in theory if you use your dominant eye and match that to your left or right side it makes life easier but honestly for your mind can learn either way. One just feels more natural or not. I can shoot and write with either hand but I primarily write left-handed I throw a football either way but primary is right handed I throw a baseball primary left-handed and I shoot guns primarily right handed and a hammer primarily right handed.. Now for the trick question. If the military did not start out there marching cadence - left right left,,,, Would you actually walk... right left right??? Try it....

It doesn’t matter if you are left or right you need to learn how to shoot both in a time matter, now and arrows are for protection and other stuff, if suddenly you are in a situation you need to grab and shoot.

So what you're saying if your right eye is dominant you need to do you need a right-handed bow if your left eye is dominant you need a left-handed bow

THIS IS MISINFORMATION. Justin Blake got it right. (Did you notice the first image at the beginning of the video? It showed 2 compound bows did it not? It did." People making videos like this presume that ALL ARCHERY IS COMPOUND ARCHERY. (Well, not it is not.) How can I know that the information is in error? Because I recognize the technique for "aiming" as coming from a person who practices Compound Bow 'Tecnhiques, and then applies them in error to Traditional Shooting with Longbow, Recurve, or Mongolian Bows. We do not shoot traditional archery with "an eye". Instead, both eyes focus on the target. It does not matter that the author of the video refers to "both eyes open". The determination of a "dominant eye" is the irrelevancy. There is no closing of a "non-dominant" eye. This is not shooting a rifle. The video fails to demonstrate a Right Handed or Left Handed Bow. Moreover, the first decision to make is whether you wish to shoot a Traditional Bow like a Recurve or Longbow or even a Mongolian Bow, as contrasted with a Compound Bow and it is the Compound both in specific which does use "aiming" just as is done in shooting a firearm. One Suggestion: Beginners in Traditional Archery can gain confidence by starting with outdoor shooting, and not with an elevated target. I suggest that the beginner get several 1 gallon plastic water bottles. Scatter them on the ground ahead of your shooting position, shoot at the closest first and in turn, fire at each plastic bottle. The beginner will find that they gradually it the target every time. As progress is made. targets can be placed at higher elevation off of the ground.. There is something about shooting at a grounded target that helps to gauge accurate aiming "with both eyes open" and focused on the target. Traditional archery uses no "looking down the shaft" or "using the point" as an aiming reference. However, many beginners with traditional archery get misguided by persons more familiar with compound bow shooting.
