I have both the chamberlain blue cover one as well as tbe sears craftsman 75 anniversary edition units. Look identical to thiis one here as they are all chamberlain units. Would love to have the liftmaster branded one as well, i think only difference is it has a full one piece rail, and not the traditional 3 piece rail like sears sells or chamberlain if you purchase from a big box hardware store. Other than the rails, the motor heads are all identical just different branded wrapper covers. I also see there is an older craftsman chamberlain screwdive that has a bigger plastic motor cover and limit settings are behind a removable door on the side. I think that version was junk. This you have here is the 2nd version which is more compact and much more reliable. I think genie has a patent on their direct drive units as i have yet to see any other brand with the screw that runs directly through the motor rotor, even though todays genies have a coupler as well, but still same concept ss it was always with genie. Very compact units. This unit you have here works very similar to moore o matics screw drive opener as it has a belt as well. Lots of pieces to move vs genie. So i guess none if these other brands are allowed to copy genies style.

Just ran into this video where my Holmes E900 top carriage bolt came out of the jam. I did not have the angle iron as you installed. The home warrantee has a garage door contractor coming to fix this and will ask that the bracing you did be done. Even if they don’t do it, I will do it so this issue never happens again. Thanks again for this video. Got me well prepped for the work to come.

Why did the cable come of in the first place? Most likely from when the spring was new springs have to be readjusted because they loose tension after break in period. And probably was never readjusted causing slack in the cable that resulted in the cable coming off

Great Video, got my pet 1993 Genie Blue Max working again with one turn of a wrench., thanks to this video. OK so, as this video explains, the door would start to close, then stop and go back up. I never knew anything about a clutch, but before disassembling the clutch (sticking out the back end of the opener), roughing up the surfaces with sandpaper, then reassembling the clutch, as this video explains so well, I just tightened the big nylon nut sticking out the back of the clutch about a turn or two, and the clutch worked properly after that. Then I did follow the instructions in this video to be more thorough - took it apart and roughed up the mating surfaces. After reassembly, with the nylon nut at the same position as I originally found it, the door was back to its old trick of going down a little, then "chickening out" and going back up. So, I tightened the nylon nut once again, probably about two turns tighter than it had originally been, and now it works great. I also oiled all the hinges on the folding sheet metal door and it seems quieter. Still, it's louder than I would hope for. I had greased the long drive screw a few months ago, which made it noticeably quieter, but it got louder again. Wondering if I need a new carriage? - trolly? whatever the unit that rides along the screw is called - would a new one help with the noise?
@ALLProGarageDoors
@ALLProGarageDoors Ай бұрын
@@dougselsam5393 It really depends on how loud it is vs just the spinning screw. pull the red rope and put the door on manual the activate the genie and if it’s still noisy i would try a thicker grease like an axle grease but don’t over do it you’ll bog down the screw. sometimes that will quiet it down, if that doesn’t work then spend the money on a new trolley. 👍🏽

Mike, how are you? What happens if I have 2 springs, 1 P728 and 1 P528 on each side? Is it supposed to hold approximately 120 kilos and I only have 100 of the gate? Nothing? Or yes? Thanks. One of the anchors on one arm broke, but I think the material was just a plaster cover or something. Thanks, I'm sad. If you attach it to a wooden gate and nothing happens, I attach it to cement or cement finish and it cracks. It's a pity I don't have your email to send you photos. Happy Sunday.
