I did a research paper for an ornithology class about altriciality and vocal repertoire, while working in a neuroethology lab, and I realized that species w altricial offspring have more *plasticity*. literally when they are born their brains have more room to change, so they can learn and respond to their environment. I think thats a really clear connection to problem-solving as a measure of synapse dynamics! And synapses are inherently limited by neuron number and density.

What about jumping spider intelligence compared to relative brain size? I think I’ve seen them be taught tricks, and read about one species figuring out and remember better ways to hunt when one method failed (Portia Fimbriata?). So I wonder how relative brain size might play into jumping spiders

I keep on spraying my indoor bougainvillea this is the second time the attack. First I lost all leaves. Now they have grown back. It's December and the aphids are back again. These plants are in a south facing window with heater and not exposed to the outdoors. All my other plants seem to have no problem. I soapy water sprayed all of them. I rubbed by hand most leaves and cut any more affected. Put spoon by spoon boiling water on top of the soil .I only bring in my banana and strilizia in the winter. They are all ok..VERY frustrating. I was just awaiting for the bougainvillea to bloom again after one year of aphids....

We have caught Bonnetheads using shrimp or cut bait many times in the Gulf of America. But the main reason I clicked, is because some of the ones we caught had weird fins near their vent. It resembled jointed legs, with webbed feet! I joked that the shark ate a duck or seagull, and couldn't fully digest it or it got stuck...😅😮😂 These sharks also had a Very stinky musk, that was impossible to wash off!! It had to wear off. A couple of the bonnetheads we caught were over 6' long!

This reminds me so much of "climate change" which used to be called "global warming" until it was shown the earth wasn't warming enough to prove the agenda. Now, since "evolution" needed to fill so many "plot holes" we have different types of evolution. What nonsense!
@lilyumajansКүн бұрын
Im sure you are just uneducated but i need to tell evolution and global warming are both proven things eith evidence like evolution is a scientific theory and a law so don t talk before making your research

I remember taking in an old stick but from outside and putting them in a little terrarium with sticks and leaves. And it didn’t move. At all. Not at night. Never. Would not move. But if I blew on it, it would wobble, and take a step. So I put a mini fan on it, and it wobble wobbled around and ate some of the leaves :D

Well first we must understand where the DNA came from did it come from Earth and evolve, or did it come on a comet or some other celestial body, I believe if it came from a celestial body that some of the DNA sequences could have been close to each other but not the same.

They also only have a limited number of survivable mutations in their DNA so under smaller conditions, the same mutations will provide similar evolutionary advantages and thus phenotypically the appear surprisingly similar.
