If you need a food safe wood finish, I would recommend Mineral oil, Tung oil, Raw linseed oil, and Walnut oil. Once thoroughly cured, these are completely food-safe. Still want to use teak oil - I recommend checking the label. If it's marked food safe you can go with it.

Glad to know it's helpful. Yes, I think it will be safe to apply milk paint over exterior latex low VOC paint. To be more effective I recommend sanding the surfaces lightly before you apply the milk paint.

If you need to fill screw holes in a wood door and intend to screw back into the same filled holes, select a wood filler that matches the color of your wood door - you can find wood fillers in various shades to blend seamlessly with different wood types. Using a putty knife or a similar tool, apply the wood filler to the screw holes. Press the filler firmly into the holes, overfilling them slightly. After filling the holes, use the putty knife to smooth the surface of the wood filler. Make sure it is level with the surrounding wood and allow several hours to dry completely.

I think yes, but only for a small project you can try and see the results. If it's an important project like painting an entire wall or a room I would not recommend it. Some body oils may contain ingredients like shea butter or cocoa butter to provide additional moisturizing and emollient properties and this can affect the finish and durability of your project.

I suspect by "don't touch or move the hinges" they actually mean physical contact like touching it with your fingers or removing the screws. Swinging the door is fine.

I really don't want to spray paint them, way too messy. Can I use a brush/sponge and have it turn out well?
