I know it’s been almost over a year since you put this video out I finally got one … and yeah first thing I did was put a 1080 in it and it’s perfect/ with some Baja MTZ and TREAL wheels. Great rig … even if they call it 1/18 🤣

Have you tried running the under driver ring and pinion set in front and rear of the vrd. May lower torque twist enough to make that line you can't do with the vrd yet. Keep that front right down a little more.

I was quite unhappy with my Pro. It was unnecessary heavy with that stock gearbox and it had to low clearance. The pro axles got donated to a Arthfull Dodgers Pathfinder and o man what a difference. having a more forward skid and clearance makes.

Seems like the wheel tire set on the vrd needs to be put on the pro. I have neither of these but super scrubbed in KRAWLERS g8 from 2018 maybe. What I do have is a scx10ii base full rock pirate interceptor build even their bed I’d like to see that compared. Not sure if you have any of those left I don’t really care what axle is underneath them.

I paid $399 and put in about $100 extra in mods and even did a few free ones of my own. Im definitely not done but even with just the little bit ive done its a performer. I hated how the cab set forward of the skids and how far the front bumper stuck out so i found a way to move the cab back push the bumper in giving it a better approach angle. Plus it got rid of the body rub.

10:37 you couldnt just say no to the factory reset? you make it sound like you had to do a factory reset then figure out a way to bind it without a bind plug
@westdesertwheeler26667 күн бұрын
I turned it on and immediately hit enter so I could select and change model, the controller turned on and immediately asked if I wanted to reset, I didn’t read the screen I was relying on it to work correctly

In my opinion, it all depends what terrain you are running, to use portals or straights...but the good thing about portals is that you can run 4.2" tires in a class 2 comp to bring the rig down.

I think the change in geometry can partially be attributed to the portal axles having a different leverage point on the link/chassis.

The reason it has servo on top of axle is because that’s closer to how it comes in the kit. The stubby alone makes little difference with a small light motor

13:27 wouldn't this be a portal vs strait axle thing due to tourque twisting being on the opposite side of the truck one vs the other? I have always been curious about this haha I wonder if you changed vrd to strait axles and see if or how much that Crack 15:30 would change
@westdesertwheeler26667 күн бұрын
I have a VRD on straight axles and it’s an animal
@sprather847 күн бұрын
I wonder if a set of hard-core links for the VRD would help with the geometry?
