There are a couple of episodes of Spongebob Squarepants that shows us the inside of his closet that all the real clothing he possesses is his work clothes; the uniform we have seen him in some episodes was probably just either a costume or something he got from being a boy scout(There are some boy scout groups that do dress up like somebody who was from a boot camp).
