Someone needs to make light weight Star Wars kits for these. Tie Fighter wings would be amazing.

Iv'e always thought that if wheels are turning you should be able to recharge the battery while in motion. Bikes, cars, whatever. There might be a way to use the pedals somehow? If I could figure something out to do this, I would donate it to the public so it would be free energy.

I would like to see an option for another battery to add on in case I need to go any type of distance and you might think about making the whole unit bigger so that a person could convert an adult tricycle. Perhaps a dual setup for both rear wheels since the sprocket is in the middle. I would also sell a hydraolic brake kit too. This is a brilliant option for people if its cheap enough.

what's the weight of that battery feel like mounted on the bars there? I would have liked to have seen one mounted near where the regular brompton mounting point is on the front and I'm wondering why they didn't do that

they make oil from does yellow plants you see in video, good to keep mud off your bike if you go offroad like that. canoli oil it is. (also cheaper then protect and shine oil/spray) but protects it good to not get mud sticking on the bike, i just seen a video from a mtb guy.

Been doing VHF/UHF range tests ever since I qualified at Foundation a year ago - mostly because I see to live in a dead zone 😂. First it was APRS from a Boafeng and helical whip into a Raspberry Pi hosted gateway at home, then the same with a car mounted antenna using APRSDroid on a phone connected to the Boafeng. Upgraded to a used Icom IC-E92D and added a Digital hotspot (another Raspberry Pi 😉) so can do digital voice both ways on D-Star via the "Echo" function with GPS locatioon added in. Now with the recent licence changes I can give the Hotspot a bit more oomph (5w ERP) out of my home white stick - Can do DV all over town on UHF if the antenna high enough!

Ok, so some of your yagi s are in the horizontal plane and others are in the vertical plane and the one in your window was pointing straight up which from i understand is not correct. Could i get feedback on these comments.
@andykirbyКүн бұрын
In the thumbnail it's just sitting there, it's not wired up. All the yagis are vertically polarised as pretty much all other stations will be using vertically polarised antennas also.👍🏻
@terrysobkowich2084Күн бұрын
@@andykirby Thank you, for clearing up the window antenna question and for the comments on the most desirable plane of orientation, I have seen comments online suggesting that horizontal is the standard rather than vertical orientation..... but perhaps this is simply a standard for tv yagi s because they are so big, and that the 800 or 900mhz are typically vertical. Been also looking at building a yagi and even though yagi is pretty simple the topic of antennas and rf shape and propagation is a deep rabbit hole lol. It would be awsome to see more diy yagi builds on you tube ....hint. lol

I design electronics for a living and have designed systems with lithium ion batteries. Spot on Andy, well done. One thing I might add, though, is don’t charge the battery below zero degrees centigrade. What happens is that the battery can develop dendrites if charged below zero. Once they are developed, every time you charge the battery from that point, the dendrites grow- even if you charge the battery above zero. Eventually, the dendrites puncture the barrier between the two sides of the battery (internally) and you get current flow that causes the barrier to melt and thermal runaway.

Is the throttle linear in manual? I'm a noob but it feels to me like there's some curve or smoothing. 🤔
@andykirbyКүн бұрын
Good question, there might be, there's no settings available for the throttle so it's just a matter of getting a feel for the aircraft the more you fly it.😁

I started flying this version of the Mach5R-HD (6s / ELRS) in October 2023. Same motors and basically the same frame (without the cool shell). Although USA FAA limits quad speeds to below 100 mph, I understand Team iFlight has video showing this configuration exceeding 130 mph (215 kph /60 m/s) kzbin.info/www/bejne/baXNnmegqtqphqM

@@andykirby - kind of you to say. I have two Mach5 HD drones (different model years. The oldest (which is the "version 1" model year 2022) is about 10% slower than the current "V2" (model year October 2023). The HD version is the full vista air unit and standard DJI camera.

I'm retired now but used several one of these while working with leased Sprintervans for 18 years, no problems, a pleasure to drive 5 years /350.000 km and let the next owner take over a car with no holes! - then I retired and got one from my normal supplier i Germany - Wimo.. and put i on my private car - a Toyota Aygo.. and the thing blow of just like that! JUst now I got all the thigs together again, removed the sticky tape and aplied some new from China! - I'm letting the glue harden waiting for tha postoffice to call - and then I take it for a spin... but I can hear APRS signals coming in on 144.800 just fine..
