Hey mate. Great videos. I got into Meshtastic partially through watching your videos. I'm at the bottom of the North island in New Zealand on 918.875mhz, and fortunate enough that a bunch of good buggers around here have set up solar nodes on some of the very tall mountains we have around here. As a result I am getting connections to nodes over 150KMs away, and over the water across to the South island! The off-grid aspect is of special interest here due to the earthquake risk and the relative fragility of infrastructure here, including internet and cellular. :)

It looks like my old Escort radar detector from the eighties. In the State of Virginia it’s a guarantee that you will get pulled over and charged with having a radar detector. Problem is that the police are really uneducated in Mesh equipment and how it works. These nodes need indicator lights showing when they are transmitting and receiving data from your Meshtastic keyboard.

Another cool video Sir Andy Kirby! I am building a stealth Meshtastic node out of sight, because even for a 50 cent that fell out of your pants they will break your window. Above the wind shield there is a little space in the ceiling cover. I made an dipole antenna (put it flat to the window) and it seems to work pretty well. Thank you for your valuable vids and inspiration!

If you don't want to have to worry about adhesive on your paint, you can use nano tape. I have used that stuff to stick my cameras to bricks, and they've been up for years, when I take it off there is no residue, and no damage. I wouldn't use it on plaster or drywall, but basically any surface that won't come off with the tape is good. * I say this because you seem like you're proud of your 450bhp machine 😉

Yes, it's how the governments attempt to track dark web traffic, they run nodes. People were trying to use their routers to make a mesh network in the 90s, not enough adoption and not enough range. This has a greater range and requires less nodes to be functional, but the bandwidth will always be tiny, it will never allow much more than text messages.
