I went ahead and replaced my second lens as well (pack I bought had two) and was able to get rid of the noticeable seam, camera works great.

When you replace a car's blower motor, go to an appliance parts place and pay the $10 for the tiny bottle of ultra-light silicone lube oil, and oil the new motor before installing it. Your new motor may out-last your vehicle. No kidding. I found out about this from my good friend a mechanic in the Service. BTW, for about $35 there are now solid-state replacements for the ancient blower resistors that give full voltage to the motor, just "chopped-up" on lower speeds. Better for the motor and reduces the amp draw (motor runs COOLER, always a good thing).

One correction to my previous post. I did reassemble the button panel with the 4 t8 screws before testing it. So I shouldn’t have said that I tested without reassembling everything, I just meant that I didn’t put the button panel and door together in case it didn’t work and I needed to buy a new button panel.
@franksansone45196 ай бұрын
I have this model dishwasher and it had exactly the same symptoms. Thank you for the help learning from your experience. I removed the button panel as you described and inspected it. I separated the button area from the lower plastic housing on the button panel which is held on by 2 t8 screws and removed the cover for the display, another 2 t8 screws. I found that the cable on the display was not fully seated. I unplugged it and plugged it in again. I also reseated all of the other cables at the connectors by unplugging them and plugging them in again. Without reassembling everything, I tried using the button pad and it worked perfectly! It appears that the whole problem was due to poor connections at the cable plugs! I hope this extra step helps you save by not having to replace the panel as it did for me. Best wishes for getting the results I did.

I wanted to thank you for this - saved my washer and I even jacked my door up and got it back in. The post below with how to run the diagnostic cycle is a must read AND BIG TIP - put soap on that seal so you don't have to fight it. So far so good.

This quick fix did the trick for a few days, but started leaking again Trying out adding silicone adhesive now like what other comments I read about see if that does the trick My KitchenAid dishwasher is only 3 years old Feel this should of been a recall from the manufacture. I'll follow up if it works But if it doesn't I'll be buying a different brand

You absolutely must use silicone lubricant. Often it is sold with faucets (I bought the Moen silicone from Home Depot) or at Amazon. I installed the grommet first time without and it continued to leak. Repeated the process, but this time silicone around the diverter shaft and in the well that the grommet fits in. The silicone allows the grommet to seat deeper, and to seal against the diverter shaft. Six months later, no leaks.

Amazing video! But use plumbers grease, the first time around my gasket was still letting a little water through, I reinstalled with a dab of plumbers grease and it was a perfect fix.

Vacuum the mesh screen every week and carbon filter every month and wash and put back in every 3 months, will keep your hepa cleaner. And don’t wash your hepa, it just ruins it.

So a little heads up. if ONLY the outer lens is damaged, just buy the "diopter" lens (the outside part) You DONT have to replace all the internal stuff. get a centerpunch, and crack the glass all around, until it falls out. get a tiny flathead screwdriver, and remove all the glass you shattered, and simply pop in the new replacement diopter lenses, It does take some mild to reasonable effort to pop them in, but its really not that tough. Ijust replaced the front and back side diopter lenses, and no issue with them.

Your Amazon link no longer works. Does anyone know where to find the part. Whirlpool doesn’t sell it separately now, they make you buy the whole sump motor assembly.

What was the name of that seals? That’s exactly what I need but I don’t know what the name to order Amazon and thank you so much.
@pitviper7924 Жыл бұрын
Get your tin foil hats on. The grommet seal is the most common leak problem with the dishwashers that are made with the same diverter valve. Just because it says Whirlpool, Kitchen aid, etc. It is the same dish washer design with the same basic parts. What fails is the grommet seal because people do not rinse off their dishes before putting them into the dishwasher. The small particles that are abrasive wear out the grommet. Okay, you know you are guilty but still want your leak fixed. Now you order the grommet seal, install it, and if you are lucky, it fixed the problem. Now you replaced the seal and it is still leaking. DYI peeps are not the the most competent people in repairs, but lets say they did it right. Do you have the tin foil hat on? I feel the manufacturers that make these dishwashers also sell the replacement grommet/seals. They have China producing the seals, which has a terrible history of not being able to manufacture anything to exact tolerances. If your repair failed, you will just buy another one of their poorly made dishwashers. For them it is a win-win. Sell a part and sell a dishwasher.
