What's the name of model and brand telescopic pole in the video?
@BobsBitsOutdoorsКүн бұрын
This one is a sensas brand whip but now discontinued. This one was very inexpensive at around £10 so you could find any brand whip at around that price for a similar result.

I’ve not had that happen to me yet in a couple of years of ownership but I’ve not given it that much hammer. Would it be easy enough to glue the magnets back in with a drop of superglue?

I’d agree. They aren’t the best although they were relatively cheap in comparison to fortis etc. I now use them as a backup pair in the car.

Almost, we tend to use a rig which is a fixed length of line with a float (and required shot to cock the float) attached. At the hook end we use a hookbait rather than artificial ‘flies’.

Hi I'm new to fishing and fancied the idea of a whip rod. However I've noticed after watching several videos that only small fish seem to be caught. Can I ask does adding the elastic increase the chances of catching larger fish. Thank you Paul

The biggest problem with elacticating a whip is that if you are fishing to hand and you hook a decent fish-usually a carp, it is difficult to land as you have too much line out and with the stretched elastic added you cant hold the whip high enough to net the fish,, I got over this by attaching a lencth of green garden wire to the bung and running it all the way to the bottom of the whip, so it could be used as a puller, allowing you to shorten the length of the elastic and able to net the fish--I have used this method very successfully for many years.
@BobsBitsOutdoorsКүн бұрын
Old school ways to get round this include standing on your box or walking backwards. I had a 6.5lb tench on my first elasticated whip with a silvers rig and size 20 hook which was a struggle to get in but just about managed. Don’t get me wrong I’d never fish this way in a match, it’s way too slow you need to land the fish and move on.

This is a great technique, which can also work with boilies and meat. pellet band on a hair is very versatile, you can also use it in the normal way for pellets (no shit, Sherlock!) but also worms and maggots and my final tip is mould paste around the band or pellet in the band and then mould paste around that (absolute killer!).

No faster than using the quickstop hooklengths.
@BobsBitsOutdoors8 ай бұрын
Yes but not everyone has those in their box and it’s extra expense if you already have bait bands or banded hooklengths to hand.

Always thread your line through the bottom first not the top when using a knotless knot

Thanks, I’ve not really had any problems with breakages. Fishing for carp max size of about 8lb on commercials.
@whatshisface43439 ай бұрын
@BobsBitsOutdoors no problem, it's more about how it pulls the hook into the mouth when it's threaded through the bottom first, we all have our own ways of doing things tho, tight lines buddy

Try it with a size 22 hook and 40 yr old fingers. You’ll see that hook tiers have their place for those of us with sausage fingers.
