The V man. You and Rick were my faves, could just do anything. Good on yah mate love your work. I was lucky to be in the US in 2013 and did OCC and the bikes were unreal. The fire bike brought tears to my eyes and I just sat there looking at it for ages. Have you tried Kangaroo mate, you can get it over there . Very lean .

Hyundai wants $20/quart for their fluid. Valvoline approved ATF is $25/gallon. It's same fluid for 95% of all CVT transmissions

Vinnie , Jay Lenno said he bought a chopper off you guys and when he hit a bump in the road the tail light fell off which shorted the electrical system , the bike stalled and he went flying over the handle bars which were loose , he cart wheeled into a 75 foot tall live oak ( the kind that doesn't move ) and luckily he had on sunscreen and only broke his collar bone and ruptured his spleen but he is not pissed at you , he said he will see you in hells kitchen .

I'm the second owner of a 2016 4runner. Not sure if the 1st owner ever changed the tranny fluid. The miles are 192000. Don't know if I should attempt to change it. What do you think?

Correct Transmission fluid level is CRITICAL to the operation and life of the transmission. Transmission Fluid Temperature should be in a range of 94 to 113 degrees NOT 150 (175) degrees full operating temperature when checking fluid level. You cannot get a correct reading by using an temp gun on the exterior of the transmission. You should invest in a scan tool to do this job right. At 150 degrees the fluid has expanded about 15 to 20 percent which will cause the fluid level to be too low if you drain it until it dribbles out at 150 (175) degrees. This is a big problem with techs removing the drain plug to check the level (dribble) too hot or too cold at a quick lube type oil change facility. Why do techs put this information on line (you tube) when it is incorrect. Get it right.

If you are draining the fluid cold and you get 2.5-3 quarts out of the pan, why not just put 2.5-3 cold quarts back in the pan? You are essentially putting back in exactly what you took out. Why go through this entire procedure of running it to op temp then draining it if the car is already running fine with the amount of cold fluid that you initially took out. Sounds like by putting the same amount of cold fluid back in when the car heats up and the fluid expands it will still be the same amount in the pan. Just my thoughts. Please advise if and why my thoughts on this are incorrect.

No reason to. Sr is one of the most toxic people. You could clearly see on that show if he was taken out of the equation OCC would have been a gold mine for generations. The only one holding back that business and the family was Sr.

A quick question. If you measure exactly how much fluid was drained when engine was cold, you can put exactly the same amount of new fluid and skip draining the new fluid you put it. Is that right?

this design to check level is so... wasteful and bad for the environment for just draining away brand new fluid you just put in. such a bad design. What was wrong with the dip stick way. bean counters got to the engineering room.

Mr. DiMartino, may I have a question for you? At cold when i removed the drain plug, I saw my 2013 RAV4 XLE draining about ~1 qt of oil already. If i remove, the tube and refill as you suggested. When the car gets warm up, and i remove the drain plug again to adjust to the trickling level, will it remove too much fluid? This is the part I am confused thank you so much. What happens if you overfill it? thanks
