Nice. Question: Did you tie into a bus bar off the switch to feed each set of wires going to a light? Not sure how you’re supplying current to each light.
@AJLoDato223 күн бұрын
I ran them in parallel essentially running from the switch to the first light. The junction at each light are the wires coming in, and going out. Feel free to DM me on IG if you’d like me to send a pic - @aj_lodato

Hey nice garage! Would you recommend retractable reel? How would you compare that to the manual one?
@AJLoDato2212 күн бұрын
In regards to the hose reel, I recommend a manual one like the cox reel. For an air compressor hose or electrical cord I’d do a retractable one
@jayzhang1412 күн бұрын
@@AJLoDato22 that’s good to know. Can you explain a bit why you don’t pick retractable reel?
@AJLoDato2210 күн бұрын
@@jayzhang14 that’s only my opinion from the little I researched. I found the retractable pressure washing reels were typically smaller diameter hoses limiting pressure. Unless you were able to spend some coin on some higher quality systems. Most retractable options led me back to ‘Giraffe Tools’ which is definitely a lower tier of quality.

Nice video man, simple and to the point. I liked the explanation and I was thinking of bringing the water off from the water heater as well, nice to see you did it easily. My reason is because my breaker panel is right next to where I would bring water in from the outside which would make me nervous about possible leaks etc... What size pilot hole did you drill for the Cox reel mounting bracket?

When mounting into the studs? I don’t think I drilled a pilot hole for the lag bolts. Also, to mount the reel, the bracket has threaded holes.
@stevehoyle115719 күн бұрын
@@AJLoDato22 I bought the mounting bracket and reel from obsessed Garage. They supplied lag bolts with the bracket and they were bigger or heavier than the ones i used on the shelf. They didn't identify them and I did not want to get it wrong. I put up 3/4" plywood on the outside of the drywall.

can you hear phone calls through your speakers when using carplay?

@jayloecken2490Ай бұрын
Is there a different mic you can get that works better?
@jayloecken2490Ай бұрын
Will this unit allow my phone calls to sound better. Right now with the factory radio in my 2017 Toyota Tundra my phone calls sound like crap. Also, do you know what the difference is between the 6G +64G versus the 8G + 256G unit?
@AJLoDato22Ай бұрын
Truthfully, the one major downfall is microphone clarity with this head unit. It’s bad. For better sound, I’d recommend a name brand unit (Sony). For the data, I personally don’t see the extra coin being worth it for a 256G unless you intend to store data or use a SIM card.
@jayloecken2490Ай бұрын
So the mic is bad but does the unit allow me to hear callers through the speakers in my truck?
@AJLoDato22Ай бұрын
@@jayloecken2490it allows you to play the phone through your speakers, but the external mic itself is very bad. So bad that I unplugged and reverted to the built in mic near the volume controls. In most cases, I use my phone on speaker whine when I drive.
