C6 Corvette Double DIN Install & Review - SONY XAV AX5600

Hey AJ, followed your guide to a T and went with the exact same set up. After watching this video about 100 times, I had the entire process done in less than 3 hours. I work with electronics as a day gig as well so that certainly helped the process, but all in all I think just about anyone could do this. Couldn’t be happier with how it came out and thanks for posting, your video helped tremendously! To anyone attempting- don’t fret if you have extra wires, my harness left the solid blue and pink out, I guess you just don’t need those!

Make sure to update the headunit. It usually comes with old pre-installed version. Looks like a new version was just released a week ago. Clean install!!

Great Video!!! I installed the exact same setup on my Daughter's Fiance's C6 and it sounds perfect. I just re-ordered the same package to put in my Son's C6. Now, I feel compelled to buy a C6 for myself and I'll do the same. You should get stock in Sony and Crutchfield!!! Thanks Brother!!!

I installed this same unit in a 2006 Mustang GT almost 2 years ago to modernize it! It’s been a great unit even though I don’t get to use it much as the car is an occasional summer cruiser. Paired with Infinity speakers I installed a few years prior, the sound is awesome. I chose this unit for the quality and for the fact that it gives an OEM look as Ford has used Sony stereos for a number of years. I felt that if I went with some other brand it would look tacky and not OEM. I don’t know why people complain about CarPlay not being wireless. It’s no big deal to plug it in and it’s better quality when plugged in anyways. I should installed a licence plate camera and wire it to the unit to complete the modernization. I put the microphone under the dash to the left of the center console so it’s basically out of sight and it works great there.

I had this in my ZR1 but I could not look over the CarPlay lag on a phone call and no wireless. Not to mention no updates. Switched it out for a Pioneer DMH-WC5700NEX.

What's your thoughts on the audio quality difference/improvement on the Double Din bluetooth over the FM transmitter? Thanks for the quick and concise video with great info!

The sounds quality is 1000x better than the FM transmitter. I bought a nicer one at the time, and it was horrible.

Yes. I had to order a usb adapter to use in the cigarette lighter port which I didn’t see you post a link to and didn’t come with any of the other items… I’ve get everything working except my steering wheel controls. Any idea why they wouldn’t be working?

@@pinnacle55 Shoot - I'll add my link now, thanks for the heads up. I believe it may be your pins on the PAC system. You have to set them to 1,2,3 (up) and 4 (down). This should align it with the SONY system.

Love your Vette. I'm soon to sell my 15 ATS premium performance and pull the plug on a C6 ZO6! My boss has a low mileage orange ZO6 but I've always had a black car! What year is yours? Thanks. Awesome radio upgrade my Silverado has apple car play android auto pretty awesome my Caddy doesn't, huge difference in tech in just a couple years

Heck yeah! I had a 14’ ATS and loved it. My vette is a 2011 and has been the best car I’ve owned to date. If you get the opportunity to buy one, I wouldn’t hesitate 🙌🏼

So I have read it’s a must for C6’s…but I just researched it and can’t find much stuff on your trim level. It may be better safe than sorry!

I had a Sony touch screen 4000 Install in my c6 corvette recently. My player on Spotify music Hesitates in skips! Have any ideas what can be going on! Dealer can't seem to figure it out! Thank you!
