I'm trying to contact support, but so far they haven't answered me. I use diskbound notebooks for my journal. I currently have 2. One being my archive with 2 inch rings, and the second being my daily carry with the smallest rings. Every week Ill transfer out of my daily into the archive, refill the pages in the daily and continue on. Ive been doing this since 2017 and 2024 will be the last year in the archive before I move on to a second archive book. I am also spending a significant amount of time scanning the 500+ pages into pdf and then into obsidian so I can start transcribing them to make digital so I have a backup in case the archive ever gets lost, stolen, or damaged.

Kayln. Thank you for your review and suggestions. The big takeaway for my use case is the share vs member. I paid for several members last year simply to share one page. I was surprised that you did not touch on the AI feature.
@KalynBrookeCo13 күн бұрын
There is so much confusion surrounding guests vs members! You definitely shouldn't have to pay to share one page. I didn't mention AI because that is an add-on feature for $10/month, no matter which plan you have. Everyone can try it for free, but once you've used all your complimentary AI responses (which depends on how many members are in your teamspace), you will see a message that a Notion AI add-on subscription is necessary to continue using AI features. It's a bummer because I am finding many things to use it for, but don't want an extra subscription. 😅
@PatriciaMuirMaestroQ13 күн бұрын
@@KalynBrookeCo Yes, Kalyn, the AI offered on all the other apps we use adds to the confusion. I have invested in Jasper AI because it provides higher value and better quality results for my use case -superior to the "consumer-grade" AI chat. I'm sorry, but I find the whole weekly "what's in the fridge?" thing utterly absurd. If you're the mess officer aboard a cruise ship, then sure, that makes sense. But just for a household... wouldn't it be a lot simpler to just put down the phone, walk over to the fridge and see what's in there? If you need things to be organized, then organize them in rows and columns inside the fridge, like people have done for decades. Surely, it's a lot less mental stress, too. Gotta convserve your brain power for more important things. I think Notion is great and all, I just got on board myself, but I'm starting to see the Maslow effect here. Lordy, I really do hope you ain't creating databases for cereal-box nutritional facts, too! If you're a nutritionist or a culinary student, maybe. But planning every aspect of your life right down to what you eat weekly. That just doesn't leave room for magic anymore.
@KalynBrookeCoАй бұрын
The great thing is, whatever lifestyle each individual has, we have the ability to create workflows that maximize our time and energy! For some of us, magic is found in different forms, and sometimes these lists are the reason we have brain energy for other things. But what I love that we don't all operate in the same way or need the same things to find that magic, and I like hearing how meal planning works for you and others who do things differently!

I know it’s personal but I’m so curious about your “when I feel” and “burnout recovery” sections in notion. I would love to create something like that but I wouldn’t know where to start
@KalynBrookeCoАй бұрын
The "When I Feel" section just covers some basic things to do when I feel that emotion. For example, my "When I feel lonely..." page has practical suggestions to message a friend or distract myself with organizing my Notion workspace. :) My Burnout Recovery page isn't fully fleshed out yet, but I have some Daily, Weekly, and Monthly reminders that are supposed to help. Here are my examples so far: **Daily:** - Do not work past 4pm, unless you've rearranged your schedule to do so (ex: you are busy during the day and don't have time for adequate work blocks.) - Only check email during Office Hours (not first thing in the morning and definitely not at night!) - If you get stressed, frustrated, or angry, take a deep breath and/or go for a walk. - Start your evening wind-down routine at 9pm and turn lights off by no later than 10:30pm. **Weekly:** - Don't check email on Sunday's (or respond to comments/DM's) - Weave wellness and rhythms of rest into your week **Monthly:** - Schedule a pedicure - Schedule a Do-Nothing Day I hope that gives you a good place to start!

Hi Kalyn! I enjoyed the video and think this is going to help out a bunch. What is the best route to "retiring" a subscription from the table? A scenario is where I cancel a subscription like Netflix, I want to remove it from future payments. I would still like to look back at past months and see payments for historical data or if I had notes. Just looking for ideas.
@KalynBrookeCoАй бұрын
Awesome! I'm so glad to hear that! I would create a Status property so you can have an "Active", "Cancelled", or "Paid Off" status for each of your bills. Then if you are using any formulas to calculate your current monthly budget for each bill or subscription, make sure you use an IF statement to only count the Active subs.
@JamesMtzXIVАй бұрын
@@KalynBrookeCo Hey! Thanks for your response. I did something like you said for the status and then created different table views so I could track them properly. @KalynBrookeCoАй бұрын
Yes, it does! You could create a new "Income" Database, and every time you receive income, enter it into that database. If you want to always have a Monthly View of what you earned, you can create a *linked view of a database* on the main dashboard page and filter the dates to show just *this month.* Then, you can calculate the sum at the bottom of that database (only in Table view) to compare the two. It's kind of hard to explain via a comment, but it can be done!
