Considering they managed to run Doom on old cameras, graph calculators and pregnancy tests... it's not inconceivable. xD

That is so cute! I have that in my wish list. HP makes a color thermal printer (HP Sprocket Panorama) that prints in color. I wonder if the color thermal rolls would work in those little cameras? I think that would make a great review video!

There's a larger-than-i-thought range of analog "dashcam" type systems, far more than just the better-known Video 8, Digital 8 and miniDV systems used in late-90s and 2000s police cars. But its so difficult to find information on them! Been thinking about building my own, but i'd like to know what to be on the look-out for in my hunts and travels for these older systems, including VHS & Beta based systems and vidicon image tube camera units. I heard there's supposedly umatic and type C equipment from the 70s that came between 16mm film and vhs. It seems like the kind of weird specialty market in those days that would get a wild west approach before standardization. But yes! I've been following a channel recently that uploads road survey tapes from the 80s, so that's at least one commercial use for them, likely they've been used in municipal and fleet vehicles, too. Considering a setup for one of my cars, so hoping to find more out soon!

This is pretty cool! My favourite thing to do on a relax vacation in the last years is to take photos with my phone through binoculars. Funky bokeh and round frame :)

I thought about that myself before but did not have an extra. If you happen to video something of interest, you could click that red button and it will save as an event. Mine is same company but different model. I think mine loops at 5 minutes. All the goodwills have closed for miles around me. I used to go often to find cheap goodies like that.

Went out and got the other camera you recommended on Instagram with the thermal printer and got a 50 pk of rolls (bpa free) works great and gives that poloroid feeling! Used my pro alcohol markers to "colorize" portions of the images for a fun pop of color

Also... make sure they're fully charged before you use them for a video or interview. I use a mic like that for Zoom interviews I do (I'm a journalist), and during one interview the mic suddenly died before I finished the interview because it had juice but wasn't fully charged. I had to end the call because I wasn't sure what was wrong at first, just that the person I was interviewing suddenly couldn't hear me.

Just got this and was wondering what type of storage card you use? I tried putting a microSD card and it won’t click in…
@knoptop7 күн бұрын
it should be a standard micro sd, you may need to use your fingernail to be sure it pushes in far enough to click. if there's any resistance it may need flipped over

Could probably mimic that effect on a laser printer. At work the labels are thermal paper. The ink is the paper. If you scuff it against something and generate heat, it leaves a mark.

I love these cameras. Sometimes they have a set of filters and stickers so you can switch it so you are shooting in black and white. I've been experimenting with shooting pics, blowing them up on a photocopier, then using them on a gelli printing plate to manipulate and add color. So much fun.

I have a camera also made by Pure Digital but it's slightly different, maybe a predecessor? Same flip usb, has flash and very small atea of holes for a microphone. It doesnt say "Flip" anywhere on it and it is white all over instead of having a black area around the screen. So cool

Cool! I’m curious if you open the battery cover if it has the name of the camera? (Most likely numbers like 225 or similar)
