The French movie, 'Being 17,' is a bit of an oddball, but it does end happily.

Please don't forget Parting Glances, a 1986 romantic comedy with an early performance by Steve Buscemi, set in - and made in - the heart of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. It was mind-blowing at the time with its deadly backdrop and surprisingly uplifting tone.

So many of these are teen / coming of age. 'Bros' was at least one that had some older characters. But sadly ... very little mainstream gay in 2024.

Coral Island is great, is very Queer, you can be male, female or non binary, has lots of characters you can date and I think all of them are playersexual so you can date all of them (the single ones) also the characters are all great to look at and there's lots of diversity when it comer to skin tones

Screwball comedies in the 30s and 40s were a good way for them to get around the hays code with use of innuendos. I think bringing up baby 1938 is a good example of this. Its said to have the first use of the word 'gay' in the way that we understand it today and Cary Grant makes reference to the gay clubbing scene in New York. It wasn't supposed to be taken seriously, but if you knew, you knew

Yes,Shelter is a film I wish I had on DVD as part of my library,it's a beautiful film & everything is dealt with in a way that seems natural, not contrived. Jongens/Boys is an art piece & Beautiful Thing,is a joy to watch & helped so many ,particularly in those days .God's Own country is sweet & juxtaposing the storybwith an environment that hasn't had enough exposure. Love Simon deserves its place for giving us the ingredients for then better TV show Love Victor,Make Yule Tide Gay is truly funny - the actor playing the mother - pops up in many gay movies. You honestly didnot make a bad choice or any I've not seen multiple times. Might I please suggest some other based on same principle, leaving you happy, not with "you're crying,I've got allergies. Or totally traumatised though at first everything is beautiful & then the ground is pulled from under your feet & you're left utterly traumatised, the cinematography, production never ceases to beautiful. Two examples being Sunner of 85 & Fireworks. Like yours they're not in particular order, they just are either part of my DVD collection, which over 3,00 titles & counting, also some were books that I seriously suggest you read because they're more often better than the film & can help either by continuing in sequel; for instance CMBYN,leaves any gay man/teen in bits, because we've all been there. But we're way tougher than, too many people think. And we deserve a happy, so read the first book & then read "Find Me"; sequel by same author André Aciman. Aristotle & Dante,Discover the Secrets of The Universe, Everyone is Talking About Jamie, Later Days, Pricilla Queen of the Desert, North Sea Texas, Handsome Devil, for anyone who Enjoyed Red,White&Royal(def on my list) you get a young Nicholas Galitzine. There is a number of Eating Out movies so start at beginning and see if it's for you, G.B.F. , Moon Light an amazing film with very powerful actors; some people question if the ending is happy of sad - I have seen it a few times & I honestly see it as a positive happy ending. Now two movies with subtitles Esteros 2016 & "Hidden Kisses" a fantastic French movie - I'm seriously hoping they'll get the same cast together & give us a sequel. And finally, based on a book written by E.M.Forster in 1913/4 & not published until after his death, based on a true story after Forster visited & spent time with an awesome man,way ahead of his time Christopher Carpenter an early advocate & activist for Gay Rights who lived with his partner George Merill, this amazing book is an important of our history & I re read it every few years, the book was Maurice and the incredible movie is the same name "Maurice" though everyone - especially on TikTok - focuses on Maurice & his relationship with Clive, whom he meets at Oxford University ( in England & if you've never been there, you're missing onof the most beautiful Cities, not just in England, but in the World), Clive is ,even for those days so deep in the closet, that he excuses what they have as meeting of minds& there relationship is based on some convoluted version of Greek Philosophy, abstinence from the animal sexual nature of men & at heart a real coward in the movie there are suggestions that their relationship was sexual,Clive insisted one abstinence, but,Maurice is saved ,by the Alec Scudder a young/ possibly his age, - beautiful &;utterly ALIVE under-game keeper & odd job man who works for Clive, on his estate. What I've told you won't ruin either the film or book for you. But interestingly Maurice the film was Produced by Merchant Ivory, written for film & directed by James Ivory in 1987,who had a production company with his partner Ismail Merchant, they lived together for 44 years until the death of Merchant in 2005. It was James Ivory who wrote the screen play & was a co-producer for CMBYN he became - at 89 - the oldest person to win an Oscar for his screenplay/adaptation to film of this now cuit movie Very best wishes to you&yours & have a great weekend 👏👏👏👋⭐️✌️

I regard _Love, Simon_ as the very best of really bad gay movies. Not once was I convinced that 'Simon' was gay. And the story was like a tornado of trying to be clever about who 'Blue' was --- bad in every direction. It was obvious that the production was only trying to get a good looking young man to be "gay" just for the box office receipts. The best part of this movie? *The **_Love, Victor_** TV spinoff.* Luckily, _Love, Victor_ was a pretty good "spinoff" of the movie. *'Victor' was 100% more believable as gay than 'Simon' could have ever been.* And that's really sad, too. Because Nick told us his younger brother came out as gay while he was making _Love, Simon._ One would think a loving brother would do his *younger, gay brother proud.*
